I agree that 'an independent judicial body in England' would be better description than 'an English court.' But I'd note that I'm not alone in viewing the judicial body as an English court, as evidenced in much of the reporting.

This doesn't seem to me a very good argument against retrieval practice. That children can memorise things that aren't true isn't an argument against having them memorise things that are true. The fact that untrue and true things exist doesn't invalidate truth.

'Yes, they can settle but should we deport their kids' is a new one. The thing the consultation did not address was whether we think that extending the time frame for ILR/citizenship from 5 years to 10 years is a great idea. Because I think that it's a rubbish idea.
