I like Kamala Harris. I thought she ran a good campaign and I thought she would win (I thought HRC did / would, too). But I am very wary of any candidate who lost a national POTUS election making another run at it the next cycle. Yes, Trump is a (semi-) exception, but he's a rarity.

Well, I read the article, bleary-eyed at, like, 4am, but I don't think it was talking about pensions or home equity. I think it meant entrepreneurs, not in tech but in garden variety businesses, who just happen to be prospering. I'm very skeptical that theory disproves the "New Guided Age" claims.

I'm confused. I thought AI mimicked human speech and analyzed how humans think and write, and then considered discrete questions that the AI program answered with that mimickry and analysis. "Consciousness" suggests automous thought and action, like an evil Hal in 2001. Who says AI is doing THAT?
