One of my favorite moments last year was a visit to DC, and I basically talked my partner's ear off about Grants poor hardscrabble background, his prosecution of the KKK, his willingness to sacrifice for what he thought was morally right, and even his fatal flaw loyal gullibility.

She wrote a lot of letters. To the department of health. Because these horrible images will create rapists!! And god forbid black people and people of "low intelligence" find them, she screams into the void.

No wonder rape cases are on the increase! Can you imagine too the harm these suggestive pictures can do to all adolescent boys? They are equally bad for adults of low mentality such as white morons and most of our negro population. Stop the sale of these misnamed "comic books".

Every so often, as we fight in the trenches of this dumb culture war while also actually trying to save off fascism, I'm reminded of a letter I found in the municipal archives from 1942. An angry "a parent" complaining about evil comic books. Nightmare fuel. Hideous pictures.

What child wouldn't have difficulty going to sleep after looking at these hideous pictures? And what nightmare producers they are! Can't you help us stop this neurotic producing evil? Even if we do not buy them other kids do, and pass them on to ours. - A Parent
