If you can keep a little flexibility, I bet you would be able to get tickets somewhere fairly easily.

If there is a team you follow, you could become a mitgleid and then try to purchase tickets when they go on sale to members. I'm a member for FC Heidenheim and it isn't that expensive.

You can try to purchase tickets on, say, Stubhub, but that can be sort of risky because many teams try to crack down on scalping. Are you looking for any teams/matches in particular? If not, I'd look for an underperfoming team with a big stadium.

It's nothing like the US experience. Typically seats don't go on sale until a few weeks before the match. They are first made available to members (mitglieder) of the clubs and only become available to the general public if there are any left over. Many times tickets won't be available.

I thankfully was able to stop an architecteral firm from designing the offices in our building such that white boards would be mounted on the back of our office doors. They seemed shocked to learn that basically forcing a prof to shut the door when meeting with a student might be a terrible idea.

While I don't necessarily disagree that Hartel might just want to get back to Europe, I follow both leagues and I think FB guy is correct that 2.Bundesliga is better than MLS. (And I say this as an STL City fan from Southern Illinois, who, admittedly, is an even bigger FC Heidenheim fan.)

2.Bundesliga starts in 10 days and still no info if it will be carried in the US. I emailed Bundesliga support but their reply, which took 8 days & a follow-up email from me before it arrived, merely provided the link for broadcasters which: 1) doesn't work for the US 2) isn't about 2.Bundesliga 🙃

Reports are they spent €3.8-4.3 million. As an FC Heidenheim fan, I am not unhappy with the outcome (although I certainly would have prefered he be playing in the Bundesliga again this year with FCH).
