At the #tasmanianwine #tasting The 2026 #semillon & 2025 #chardonnay from #futureperfectwines were excellent- the Semillon with its nutty floral aromas & great palate is rearing to go. The Chardonnay is magnificent tight with plenty of bright fruit flavours & a refreshing finish, OUTSTANDING!!

Fox Creek Wines #museum #tasting the #RESERVE #shiraz- 1995, 1996, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018 & 2019- a spectacular line up all excellent except the 1995- let down by the cork. 2014 & 2006 we the standout wines- truly superb. Great consistency over the years. A FABULOUS TASTING!!

At #tasmainianwine today, one of the stand out producers was DOMAINE SIMHA whose Simla Field Blanc is a superb blend of #chardonnay, #riesling & #pinotgris with beautiful aromatic florals, citrus & a dash of lemon grass. A rich round well balanced palate with a crisp refreshing finish.OUTSTANDING.

Fox Creek Wines #backvintage tasting- the SHORT ROW #shiraz line up was excellent- 2004, 2005 ,2006, 2014, 2015 & 2016. They are all maturing elegantly but the 2006 was spectacular - complex bouquet, rich, silky smooth palate with delightful flavours and a magnificent finish. TOP SHELF!!!

At the recent Fox Creek Wines museum tasting the JSM range was outstanding-2006,(fully mature) 2013 (aging gracefully) & 2017 (still youthful & tight) they are a blend of #shiraz, #CabernetSauvignon #cabernetfranc. All powering along with the 2017 being TRULY AWESOME & a great food wine.

After 24 vintages the CIRC - Canberra International Riesling Challenge is closing down due to rising costs. It's success is undeniable, around 700 entries from up to 9 countries, making it the biggest Riesling Show outside of Germany. This is a great loss to the wine world. SO SAD #reisling
