John Nettles is 83 today, and I was reminded of the time 4 of us were cycling in Jersey. The hotel we were in had nowhere safe to store bikes and claimed: "Just leave them outside there is no crime here in Jersey". My buddy replied "Oh yeah? What was it that kept Bergerac so busy for 10 years then?"
