Lovely views of Knot and Bar-tailed Godwit in the wader roost at Bunny Meadows, Warsash, Hants this afternoon. Some birds very close to the footpath due to the very high tide.

Interesting, I'd have had that as deauratella!

Is it not deauratella with that amount of thickening at the base of the antennae and coppery tones to the end of the wings?

Bucculatrix albedinella larva in Elm and a Wormwood larva on Mugwort at Alver Valley Country Park, Gosport, Hants this evening. The latter a lovely surprise and a smart caterpillar. The former I'd been looking for for 5 years, seeing vacated mines locally annually. #teammoth

My first encounter with Hawthorn Moth larvae this evening. Impressive webbing on someone's garden Cotoneaster. I've never found it on Hawthorn yet and didn't realise until yesterday it used Cotoneaster as a food plant. VC11, S Hants #teammoth

The first case looks to be the spinella group, 3 that can't be differentiated on the basis of case (or adult moth, without chopping). The second could be the first case of serratella.

Really pleased to find cases of Coleophora lineolea in a local Wood today, I've looked at a lot of Hedge Woundwort over the last 3-4 years to no avail. Also a dozen Coleophora lutarea on Greater Stitchwort flowers and Ancylis apicella also seen. S Hants, VC11 #teammoth

I've looked at many patches locally without success. This was such a small patch, I was gobsmacked to find solitariella, only 2 cases mind. Gotta check it all! Good luck with future searching.

Very nice. I'd collected cones the last 2 winters without any joy, only around 10 each time so possibly not enough. I'm gonna try the lure locally soon...

A new site for Coleophora solitariella just found, almost on the doorstep, where there was only a small amount of the foodplant. Sometimes it pays to have a quick look. Somewhat unexpected! S Hants, VC11 #teammoth

What I believe to be Synageles venator, which was a nice surprise on the inside of the front door this afternoon. A convincing ant mimic, in appearance and movement. S Hants. #Spiders #Arachnids

I would say so, it's all valuable data. I sometimes see an adult resting on the trunk later in the season, not entirely surprising as there does seem to be quite a number of larvae in the tree!

Brindled Green just twice i think. In the flesh I wasn't detecting any green tones, that's my excuse anyway 😏
