My first encounter with Hawthorn Moth larvae this evening. Impressive webbing on someone's garden Cotoneaster. I've never found it on Hawthorn yet and didn't realise until yesterday it used Cotoneaster as a food plant. VC11, S Hants #teammoth

A new site for Coleophora solitariella just found, almost on the doorstep, where there was only a small amount of the foodplant. Sometimes it pays to have a quick look. Somewhat unexpected! S Hants, VC11 #teammoth

Mystery noctuid from 31/10/22, I keep coming back to Sombre Brocade on this one. I'd appreciate any thoughts from anyone familiar with the species. It is rather worn and I could be barking up the wrong tree! The underside of the abdomen was golden like the tip in the pic...significant? #teammoth

Hi @vc28wildlife.bsky.social , I photographed this Phyllonorycter mine on a narrow-leaved Willow back in June this year at Botley, Hampshire and would appreciate your thoughts regarding it possibly being pastorella. I'm hoping to return to the site soon to see if there are more...
