Yeah, they're tough little buggers. My dad wasn't going particularly fast, but it was a big car. A person wouldn't have walked away from it, put it that way.

FWIW, it's not easy to make a badger an ex-badger. One ran into the road in front of my dad's car when we were on our way down to see the grandparents: we hit it, but it just got up, shook it off and walked away.

Just realised: my hotel room for fantasycon was booked under my old debit card, which my bank have cancelled. If the hotel try to take payment off that card, it'll be declined. I don't have my new card yet, and If I don't get my new card by Thursday, I won't be able to pay for my room. God dammit.

That was pretty much my reaction when my card was declined at the local Tesco. Just about had enough cash to pay for everything, but now I'm pretty much stuffed till the new card arrives.

The person I spoke to said it was mailed out about a week ago, so basically it's on Royal Mail now. Just have to hope they get it to me soon.

Seems that my bank, useless buggers that they are, have cancelled my current debit card before sending me my new one. This leaves me unable to pay for anything by card, and unable to access an ATM to get cash to pay for things. This is not helpful.

Always love having to point out to management that, no, you actualy can't run a validation test for a parameter no one's bothered to give you the spec for. Not intentionally, anyway. Also, no, I haven't "dropped a clanger" when said parameter causes an issue, BECAUSE I WASN'T AWARE IT EXISTED.

That sucks. I have a feeling I'll be in a similar position at my place before too long - most of the staff (and all the managers) already think AI is the shit, it's being integrated into our systems, and while my boss is okay with me opting out for now I don't know how long that'll be tenable.
