The balaclava blackshirted thugs are a result of a decade of politicians, tabloids and the broadcast media telling racists they have "legitimate concerns." The normalisation of actual fascism rhetoric and action has led to this and is a far greater "legitimate concern" than any migrant on a boat.

If any of you are going to the Edinburgh Fringe the weekend of the 15th/16th, I’m going to be singing on the Ross Bandstand, with Winchester A Capella, on the Sunday at 2.00. Others that have sung here include Madness, Blondie, Texas and Rag N Bone Man. I cannot believe that I’m doing this!

Last day in Eastbourne and my sister and I visited the lifeboat station. My grandfather and his brothers all served on the lifeboat for many years. His brother, Mike Hardy, (featured in the photo) was coxswain for over 36 years. This is obviously why I spend so much time at sea; it’s in my blood.

One of the guests on the last cruise I worked on complained that I said too much about Ancient Greek mythology. The cruise was called ‘Ancient Greece and Sicily’. My agent rang me today to tell me; I’m not entirely sure why, it’s not as though I can change the talks now. 🤷‍♀️

I’ve got a weekend of singing rehearsals to look forward to. We’re performing at the Edinburgh Fringe in August, which is very exciting. If anyone had told me a few years back that at 69 I’d be performing at the Fringe I’d have laughed my socks off.
