First row of drywall up on the walls. I am really not looking forward to the second row, but at least once it's in place, the lip of the lower row will hold it. Of all construction work I have done on this project, from concrete to framing to drywall, so far I dislike drywall the most. #diy #shop

Got the closet under the stairs framed, got the header for the second landing framed. All I have to do now is cut the stringers, attach them add risers and treads, and finally the main staircase is done. #diy #construction #woodshop #carpentry

Ordered a track saw kit (saw + track + case) from home depot. Received saw, no track. Track is separately shipped, but no one has tracking, and I can't get a human on the phone. This is what our future is? Screaming at a useless ai powered machine. Who knows it track will arrive. Ever. #AIsucks

Well this is where I got so far The landing is built. I still need to cut the stringer header, the 4 stringers, the risers and the treads. I'm super stressed about cutting the stringers. I'm sure of my pattern, but my saw is a sidewinder and is terrible quality. I need a worm drive!

Hung the panel, installed the recessed lights and the ceiling fan box, and ran 14/2 romex to all of them. Took me 7 hours to do all of that, sadly. But I got it done. Tomorrow running the lines for receptacles, and that will do it for the art studio wiring. #diy #construction #woodshop

Took some time off work this holiday weekend to really focus on the shop project. I'm putting in a 100 amp subpanel, and running the circuits in each room. My goal is to try and get to the insulation stage before July when it gets really hot.

I built a little ramp to hold the 8x4x3/4 plywood subfloor sheets. The ramp holds the plywood while I clamp 2 C Clamps to the top of the sheet and pull it up with a chain. Effective! But boy after 6 sheets I am completely knackered. Only 18 more to go. #construction #woodshop

So, I bought a drywall panel lift with the brilliant idea that I could use it to lift the 3/4" osb subfloor panels to the 10' tall second story. Hah, I can barely lift a single sheet high enough to get it along the lift. I may need to call in my neighbor's skid steer to lift them up for me.

With the help of my better half and my son, we got the 16 foot, 100 pound ledger board up on the wall (that's at the 9 foot mark). Only 1 more big one to go, then I can put up the joist hangers and the joists themselves. #woodshop #construction #diy
