I remember those events well. Back then, both the US and the UK took a cautious stance on officially recognizing Lithuania’s independence because they didn’t want to escalate tensions with the Soviet Union.

Fertilizer transit of "Belaruskalij" through 🇱🇹, was terminated in Feb 2022, after the Government decided that the BY company's contract with "Lietuvos geležinkeliai" does not meet the country's security interests.

Kazys Ladiga was a Lithuanian general and one of the first volunteer officers of the Lithuanian army. He commanded the "Vilkmergė Group" during Lithuanian-Soviet war in 1918. When soviets occupied Lithuania in 1940 he was sentenced to death and executed the same year.
