@mcuban.bsky.social had asked what he could do in the era of the convicted felon Donald Trump. Here's an example. "Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's philanthropy and other U.S. funders said on Thursday they will cover U.S. financial obligations to the UN climate framework…"

Bloomberg philanthropy to cover U.S. climate dues after Paris withdrawal

Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's philanthropy and other U.S. funders said on Thursday they will cover U.S. financial obligations to the UN climate framework after President Donald Trump called for the U.S. to withdraw - for a second time - from the Paris climate agreement.

But interestingly especially for a tourism hotspot like Cornwall, the council can still manage to find the funds for exceptional levels of street cleaning, roads and infrastructure. Yet the funding and approaches in place to support the people aren’t there

You can’t say people are satisfied when only 20% say that they are!

100

However once you dive into the services the council should offer it shows that the people aren’t satisfied

Graph showing satisfaction with Cornwall Council Housing Services at 22% for 2024

Graphs showing that only 28% of those surveyed are satisfied with the services and support for young people and children in 2024

Graph showing the satisfaction of services for vulnerable adults is around 27%

So my local council have just published their Residents Survey for 2024 and are patting their backs about it. On first glance they’ve done well..
