Still feeling meh, but refining existing incomplete stuff is a nice low-impact way to get Something done, so I decided to soup up this drawing. She IS one of my favorite old characters who gets around in my headworld (even if most people are supernaturally incapable of remembering her in-universe).

Laria "Draga" Haros, a curvy anthro draconian with green scales with lighter green markings, gold-yellow scutes and horns, orange eyes, and long blood-red hair in a high ponytail. She sports silver and red mechanical prosthetic legs from the knee down, as well as a prosthetic right arm, extending prehensile hacking cables and yellow energy claws. She's dressed in a somewhat skimpy black top with snap belts holding it closed, and similar black pants, with dull brown belts.

A 300-some year old space 'pirate' on the run from her old employers, taking odd jobs… however, along the way she became possessed by a very VERY powerful entity who masks her presence by causing most people to forget her existence entirely, to the point of supernaturally erasing all physical or digital records of her in passing…

I decided to doodle this old fellow yesterday in my sketchbook with a new Kakuno pen filled with Monteverde Garnet ink. This is also the final page in this sketchbook, which marks the first sketchbook I've completely filled. EVER.

A commission I finished for @lukaneff.bsky.social of her ferris wheel Cursed OC, Clair! I was tasked to design this character from nearly the ground-up - with some guidelines - and I had a lot of fun coming up with this! Thank you for commissioning me!

A gigantic monstruosity forming a ferris wheel of flesh in multiple skin tones. Her central housing is lined with teeth, from which emerge many long, too-many-jointed arms splitting in two at the end to form hands. Each hand sports an eye; they are in alternating colors. Some of the hands hold onto ferris wheel carriages, which are still inorganic an resemble those of the original structure; however, they are connected to long, fleshy tubes, and when open, are organic inside, with teeth and tongues and intestinal textures. A large eye gazes from the center of the wheel, and she is supported by four legs that bifurcate at the ends. The central wheel and legs are dotted with bits of rusting metal pipe.

Love going through old-ass art trying to find a character I've apparently gaslit myself into remembering having drawn (I can even see the pose in my head), and finding the weirdest shit in the process instead (like this notecard of random goobers from 2003)

A seahorse made of guts, a googly-eyed head with knives and cleavers for limbs, a football with warty clawed legs, a melting face, a disembodied tongue slug with googly eyestalks, and a nondescript googly-eyed blob growing tiny, clawed, flailing limbs. I apparently had a googly eyes phase in late high school.

All four of Psalm's forms; default, Once-Entangled, Twice-Entangled, and Obsession-Corrupted. Obsession-Corrupted has the same colors as default because she actually transforms; the other two are her swapping places with other bodies elsewhere in the world which she's modified herself for self-defense. The colors of her details - the 'veins' and pseudo-eyes, change to match whatever had that body is wearing, for her own ease of identification.

"...You’re... You’re making a... a mistake..." If anything, this was my mistake. It took so long to finish because I wanted to use the larger surface area to try and get more out of Psalm's dark-iridescent/oil sheen. Also obligatory 'solid light background for silhouette' inclusion. #LookOutsideOC

Psalm in her "Twice-Entangled" form, which she only takes on if attacked unprompted while in her Once-Entangled form. A chaotic mess of oily 'flesh' and teeth and eyes and blue pseudo-eyes and veins, with a blue cross cap on the top of the mess nowhere near where any of the multiple implied heads are.

Tried to fix my pen again, did what I know I wasn't supposed to do with a 14k nib and used pliers. Nearly ruined them permanently, but it was nigh-unusable and would either need replacement if I did nothing, or I'd try and fix it and have a 50/50 chance to either fix it or still need to replace it.

A bunch or fleshy ribbons with eyes and teeth, with black ink in a busted Pilot Namiki, with added details in lighter brown with a Pilot Metropolitan.

The creature gets closer.... bifurcated limbs with melting flesh and a split head of ribbon-like jaws lined with teeth are now much clearer.

A strange, chaotic shadow creature stands in the dark hallway beyond the peephole...

Despite chaotic appearances, she is friendly... though seeing Psalm in this form locks her into a sequence of events resulting in her performing a truncated Ritual, and getting corrupted by a version of Obsession that's been trying to get in contact with Sybil, making her hostile in desperation.

Minute, AKA Minuteman (who's actually a woman), a time-controlling Conscript who was originally a handworm-infected human before wandering into the landlord's warzone. She stands in a red and brown room, looking tired as she uses her flintlock rifle as a walking stick.

Minute in combat form, donning an army helmet and holding her rifle at the ready. Her grip on the rifle doesn't seem like she can fire it - at this point she is just posturing as a threat. If she were to get serious, she would use her time-stopping powers to unload rapid-fire aimed rifle shots, only to return to an improper grip on resuming time.

$Finished Leviathand in a hallway and filling it up. One 'head' is a large hand forming a rough puppet-mouth shape, with two fingers up in 'horns' like snail eyes. This is his real head, where his 'sensory' nerves and 'brain' are located. The other end - which has a long snout and scowling toothy mouth -looks like it would be the real head, and while he does speak and eat with it, it is actually his back-end, flatworm/planarian-style. He throws his voice from this head to the hand-head, miming speaking with puppet motions. The first several 'arms' after either of his 'heads' are actually large fingers like those on his real head, but branch off into more fingers, forming fractal hand-like shapes, before getting reduced to thick finger legs for the rest of his length between both ends.$

Her multitude of eyes are tearing up as she hunches forward to attack. Her scarf is torn, revealing a turquoise cross pendant. The door to Apartment 35 is behind her.

Two more for the road, though Tracks is gonna be kinda low-priority due to not quite being confident enough. Changed the background color because of Tracks' green paint, haha.

Monster Truck Cursed Tracks; one play-bowing with a little bit more detail (albeit still sketchy), and an even sketchier version with scorpion claw/mouths extended.

Cruel voice, a flayed meat monster with split limbs and a squidlike split head lined with teeth. Instead of a lower body, blue entrails drag along the ground. Colors are a bit all over the place, especially where it skews to neon pink, due to the LO palette not really supporting the specific colors of the original character design.

Psalm in all her 'advanced' forms; one where she's gone on to perform a Ritual and turns into an Obsession-based creature bent on finding and bringing Sybil to the roof, and two states where she's undergone 'quantum entanglement' with bodies of hers that have transformed more.

Her getting obsessed and attacking Sybil's door pre-dates 2.0 giving us Obsession as a creature/concept... but it's kinda fun that it gave me a canon visual/excuse to impart to her one naturally aggressive state.

Minuteman/Minute in both her passive and combat states. Since my original art has shades of teal that are not present in the game's palette, I had to get a bit more creative with what I had.

Leviathan (tho I may take @thepatched's suggestion and change it to Leviathand, because that's so funny and I wish I thought of it), who is larger than most sprites in the game as-of right now, but is kind of meant to be... screen-encompassing.

Imagine the scale of the Garbage Worm, except you're fighting the whole thing at once and not just one part or another. But I might go ahead and shrink it before I start refining, more for my own sanity than anything.

Omg, @frankiepixel.bsky.social gave me critique/feedback live on stream, which I was NOT expecting, thank you so much!!! I did some quick passes with what was suggested, not sure if I did it right but I don't want to bother him now that he's working.

The same sprite as above, but with some added 'depth' to the sprite, both to put the bedframe and pillows further back, but also to have the arms look more like they're emerging from the bed rather than pasted on.

Reposting these here, too, and deleting them off the other one. I did a bunch of specbio for the hand worms (which have the least in-game information, but the most differing morphology), but it gets pretty TMI/N5FW, so shhhhhhh. What little is relevant will be in the Alt Text, again. #LookOutside

The 'hand’ side is actually the 'head’ (based on analyzing the in-game battle sprites, especially of the human-hybrid mutants), containing most central nervous tissue as well as more advanced (if visibly understated) sensory tissues, while the 'mouth’ is actually the hindquarters but is both used to eat and mate, playing off the positioning of flatworm/planarian anatomy (despite the fact they’re obviously supposed to be inspired by velvet worms, shut up).

…Which causes… some humorous juxtaposition when not internalizing that it’s actually completely awful.

Speaking through hybrids is the most common way for the hand-worm hivemind to communicate with non-hiveminded individuals properly, as their hand-shaped heads can neither vocalize, effectively emote, nor even use sensible sign language properly due to their multitudes of extraneous fingers. Hand worms that learn to use their posterior 'mouths' to speak are often disparagingly described as 'talking out their ass,' so it's less common than one might expect given its convenience. Some second-generation worms will even cover up their posterior mouth with socks or similar 'clothing' in a feigned attempt to maintain dignity.

First-stage worms can get up to 12 feet long within a couple of days, but without the input of additional human DNA to pad out their frail telomeres, die relatively quickly without hosts and therefore come across as simple/single-minded in their biological directive.

While technically sapient (acting as extensions of Rafta, individual parts of a larger superorganism with moderate self-awareness), their short lifespans don't give them much time to overcome their desperate need to find a host; first-stage worms act more like facehuggers, parthenogenetically producing clone eggs inside their bodies, which drive them to ravenously seek the human hosts necessary to complete their lifecycle.

The insides of a living human body provide the optimal environment to allow eggs to develop into hardier worms, as the egg membranes absorb nutrients and genetic material from the surrounding human tissue. This leads to second-stage worms with similar morphology to their first-stage variants, but with a few more human features; slower-growing and much more long-lived, allowing them to adapt better to sapience.

Minuteman (technically a first-impression internal name playing off Warzone military name puns; otherwise, she is simply called “Minute” which puns off the idea of a clock’s 'hands’) is a hand-worm infected human who ended up in the Warzone and got Conscripted. The brainwashing 'directives’ of both the Worms and the Conscripts ended up clashing enough for her to maintain the autonomy of choosing who she allies with. Upon leaving the Warzone, she found herself with the ability to harness Warzone time-disruption to her own ends.

Levi (short for “Leviathan” on account of his size) is a 'second generation’ hand-worm who is still very wormlike but has a significant amount of additional human biomass and DNA input, giving him stronger telomeres leading to a longer life expectancy, more balanced physical and mental maturation, and therefore more of a reasonable personality.

He was specifically doted on as an r- vs. K-type selection experiment, as well as having his growth time drawn out in a time distortion 'bubble’ by Minute, resulting in his excessive size relative to other worms from his clade. He looks threatening, but in reality is a big ol’ sweetheart.

Commission set I finished for @mal0v2.bsky.social, of them 'cosplaying'/transformed into Hellen from #LookOutside! We jokingly started calling this incarnation Hell0. Originally just meant to be one image, but Mal0 liked all three thumbnail sketches so I was offered more money to draw them all!

For the record... these were her old designs ( 1997 -> 1999 -> 2003 -> 2011 ) I decided to throw some weight on her because I need more important headworld characters with heavier builds to offset the fact I didn't like drawing that when I was younger and making characters.

The version of the character from 1997, where she was very clearly a Star Fox OC (a "dragon from a hidden colony deep within Solar").

A version from 1999 where I tried to give her wings, which didn't work out. She gained her machine hand in this incarnation. I don't know why she had a huge axe.

A 2003 (high school) revision, where she got way edgier. Kept the metal legs and gave her an additional prosthetic hand for 'cool factor' (later, both got very significant reasons from her backstory). Not sure where I was going with her outfit, but ended up keeping it.

A revision from 2011, for an RP I was using her in. I wanted to make her prosthetics more stylish, because they're far more significant in her later incarnations.

Another quick goob, wanted to do something paint/slime monstery. Could be a freaky Facetaker paintling, but I don't feel like tagging for that, haha.

A creature made of faintly desaturated red, purple, teal, yellow, green, and blue paint, with some segments mixed into gray. It has five gaping mouths with flat white teeth and dark gray/black interiors, as well as four reaching, mismatched, three-fingered arms. It appears to be anchored in an upper corner of some interior structure.

Happy Meatster

A shambling blob of meat, gore, and bones. Ribcage-like teeth at the 'front' end house a large cluster of small eyes, some emerging on stalks. A collection of mangled arms are implied to push it along the ground from behind it.

Someone sent an Ask on Tumblr about how I'd draw Remade Sam, which is very funny all things considered, but it did give me impetus to air out this Quite Old Already set of attempts to redesign it (I started disliking my "spindly skinned human with extra limbs" take) plus a weird thing from a dream.
