For me personally, I SAW Strive get announced at EVO 2019 in Vegas. I felt so lucky that I was able to experience seeing my favorite game series get a new title right in front of my eyes. Now, both Evo and Arcsys are forever tainted because Saudi bloodmoney. I can't even enjoy that memory anymore

I think a lot of people are less concerned about "unique" and more concerned about the FGs they grew up with. It reminds me of the "Old vs New" conversations in other spaces, it's not as if these classic FGs were considered perfect at the time either. It's just a cycle of negativity

I love Strive, but it's not even in my Top 3 favorite arcsys games (Rev 2 is No. 1 for me) and I get people's complaints about it, but it feels like a lot of problems people talk about with Strive has the obligatory "and that is why FGCs are dying" tacked on at the end.

My ACTUAL opinion is that 2xko failed because the marketing was pretty terrible, a lot of people didnt even know the game was OUT when it was announced to be ceasing production. It relied way too much on the League name. None of that is Pat or any Devs fault. That's the higher-ups completely
