Maybe something like this.

There's actually a fair bit of order here

Trying Turkish coffee for the first time. It's good! Wishing I had tried this years ago.

I am not above enjoying seeing patterns/shapes in things that are not there. At work I do it with electron microscopy (used for neuroscience research), but today with NASA's APOD, I see an eye. apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap26012...

Cozy morning (the sunlight coming through the window is not adequately captured by the camera)

It's about time I bought your book :)

"You melt my heart" "Aww, how sweet" "Not quite what I meant, help me get to a freezer please"

A few photos from my sessions that I thought turned out great:

First snow this year that's actually sticking in NYC

Sometimes you meet really nice people on the internet.

Not exactly a bicycle, but thinking of this:

Saw this was added recently near the sometimes smelly trash bins for my apartment building; brilliant solution to that. Assuming it doesn't get stolen.

Bought myself a relic from my younger days.

Clue seems pretty appropriate here..

There's no reason I can't enjoy both this (taken last week in Colorado) and living in my neighborhood in Manhattan.

This lovely person (on Substack Notes) seems to be Trump-y, but it'd be easy to find his counterparts if I look slightly further back in my history.

Not sure Citizens Union understands what it means to endorse. (I dislike the idea of endorsements, but if you believe in them, insist they be at least a bit meaningful) This is from their website. new.citizensunion.org/voters-guide...

Gmail's time-based summaries for deliveries are often useful. Maybe less so with a food order I just put in.

From a discussion elsewhere where I think my phrasing of a response made some important points and came out generally well:

Don't forget the power glove!

Good to have some ridiculous clothing for occasional use. (these are snake slippers from a gaming company that makes some things I like; I'm amused when food delivery people try not to laugh when they see them)

A colleague's data visualisation ended up accidentally resembling a photo I took in 2006, so I logged onto Tumblr for the first time in many years to dig this out. Sharing it (and another photo I took that light) for y'all's amusement.

And just-in-case, because progressives also tend to block anyone who disagrees with them, here:

Wondering if the person who designed this machine doesn't know where arms are attached on the human body. I had to bend way down to pay and almost had to sit down to retrieve the stamps.

Tracking links on package delivery may often be an extravagance, but at least right now while my leg is like this, it takes me a good minute or two to reach my apartment door and it's nice to know when to wait by it instead.

On the other side of another (fairly long) surgery, today. The meds are not quite managing to help enough with the pain, but I'm at least happy to be home.

Made a mushroom rice soup today. Mostly a success; next time I'll want to work more on the rice.
