11/ 10 ..Okay one last one (Spinal Tap did say it goes to 11 ) James Horner's score for The Rocketeer based on Dave Stevens comic this was a glorious throwback to rhe serials of the 30's & 40's. A soaring score from James who tragically died way to soon but left a fabulous legacy of scores behind

10/ 10 A throwback to the Errol Flynn swashbucklers this film was largely ignored. But damn it's a rollicking good time. It has a score to match John Deney's Cutthroat Island. This how to do a "pirate" score...in the style of Erich Wolfgang Korngold's score for Robin Hood Such good fun & enjoyment

9 / 10 this is one of those films where the score is perfectly attuned to the film. Basil Poledouris 's score to Conan the Barbarian is just stunning. Some scores don't "sound" the same separated from the film...this is one of those like Star Wars that is actually better as a listening experience.

8 / 10 This is a rare score that I was fortunate enough to obtain. Elmer Bernstein's Slipstream A film that was produced by Gary Kurtz & starring Mark Hamill..it was a Box Office failure. Possibly not marketed well I love it & Elmer's score is fabulous.

7 /10 Schindlers List by John Williams Based on the book by Thomas Keneally (Australian author) was one of the many collaboration s between John & Steven Speilberg. Featuring Itzhak Perlman on violin this is a stunningly emotional score & testament to John's genius.

6 / 10 what can I say one of the best Westerns ever features a fabulous Dimitri Tiomkin score. This film was so good John Wayne remade it twice. But the original is best. Wayne supposedly hated High Noon & made this in response. Interestingly Dimitri scored both.

5 / 10 one of my favourite scores from possibly one of the most romantic films ever. Bernard Hermann's Ghost & Mrs Muir..Gene Tierney & Rex Harrison never better than here

4/ 10 Needless to say most of these scores come from my favourite films. In the early days I would go to Ava & Susan's which specialised in film scores especially the hard to find one's. The excitement of finding a rare score was intoxicating Jerry Goldsmith's Under Fire With Pat Methany on Guitar

3/ 10 Thus began a passion that continues to this day..I became a huge Barry Fan and still am...but it also led me to other composers such as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Horner, Max Steiner, Dimitri Tiomkin, Miklos Rozsa, Bernard Hermann & many many John Barry - Somwhere in Time

2/ 10 That spark began an interest in film scores most notably John Barry who is most associated with Bond. I love Diamonds are Forever as a score & Dame Shirely Bassesy's vocals. I'll never forget the day I walked into a record shop & picked up the scores for Thunderball, DIamonds& Goldfinger
