This is so cool! Right now, the biogas is flared, so it will be a similar greenhouse gas footprint, but the energy will be captured.

A few seconds into Evangelion 3.0+1.0 someone plugs in a USB port. It's upside down at first, so they have to flip it before it goes in. Such a good detail.

Here it is, your moment of zen.
Counselor: These feelings of "everything sucks," how long have you had them?

Butt-head: Uhh, since everything started to suck, I guess.

Somehow, this news isn't everywhere. She asked her dad how he would feel if she had been sexually assaulted (referring to the Epstein files and Trump, it seems), he said it wouldn't be that bad because he has two other daughters. Apparently he then took her into another room and killed her.

I like that Cyberpunk is kind of a shared set of ideas more than a genre. 'Hyperion' references "that cowboy Gibson," i.e. William Gibson, author of Neuromancer, who coined the term "cowboy" - a hacker who runs around in the matrix.

I tried making okonomiyaki a few years ago. The cabbage wasn't chopped finely enough, but I had already mixed it with everything else, so I tried cutting it in the bowl. With a ceramic knife. The bowl suddenly exploded! Glass and ceramics don't mix!

There's a brief mention in Hyperion (1989) of orbital mirrors to give 24/7 light to plantations. The first time I heard about the idea was last year, because a company is trying to do it.

A nice-looking accidentally obtained LiPo discharge curve.
A graph of the voltage of a mobile sensor's lithium battery vs time. It's poorly calibrated, so it starts at a level 3.8V when plugged in, but it was likely 4.2V. It falls in an almost linear fashion for 27 hours. There's a slight upward curve to it - the slope decreases as the voltage decreases. Then it suddenly falls sharply after hitting about 3.3V. It stops reading at 2.8V.

I saw someone crossing the street get hit by a car back in college, sedan, right in the middle of the bumper. The car was turning from a stop at a 4-way intersection, crossed, hit at maybe 10 mph. They flopped onto the hood, limped away. No news report, so I think they ended up fine. No casualties.

I got some dremel router bits for Christmas, so I made a soap dish! It's rough, but I'm happy enough with it. I also recommend not buying the router bits unless your dremel is bigger than the 800, and you're using a soft wood. This is pine. Edges came out ok, inside cuts did not.
A square piece of wood with parallel drainage slots routed through its length. The front edge is chamfered and the other edges are filleted. The fillets are smooth, but the internal channels are not straight. The bit chattered so much that it cut them wide and left random gouges. It also burned the wood in spots. The same piece of wood with a pink piece of soap shaped like a rabbit holidng a guitar on it.

Insulation from space! It's a dozen or so layers of metalized plastic separated by thin netting. It's specially designed to block radiative heat transmission, i.e., infrared. If you zoom in, you can see it's full of holes, but that's okay because there's no air in space. The layers are separated...
A golden crinkled rectangle lying on a wolden floor. The right side is ripped exposing the silvery metal inside.A side view of the insulation. The layers are visible, crammed together, and the netting is also visible.

I need to issue a correction: the Williams Sonoma peppermint bark advent calendar is really expensive and not very good, like cardboard. The dark chocolate peppermint bark (not calendar) is expensive and pretty good.
