I was shocked when my job didn’t allow me to come back after my medical leave. “Go on disability retirement,” they said, as if it were easy. Because I have lifelong health impacts, it’s much better healthwise to not work, but the FT job of managing disability and lack of income suck.

Yes. Yes we do. But why is it that after 25 years of working in inner city schools with kids of many colors, it seems to be the white kids from non-urban areas mass shooting people in schools? Not exclusively, but usually? My students shot a person OUT of school, not IN it.
