Everything Movies Silently said, and also, it’s regional! So Kentucky has this incredibly blue-green (blue grass) grass, but even if you plant the same seeds in say, western Kansas?* It’s going to be less vivid. Like this is a spring prairie: *and one shouldn’t, because it’s a HUGE water hog.
This is a spring, shortgrass prairie of the mid-continent. Mostly has buffalo grass and blue gramma, as well as the native wildflowers. Photo from Dyck Arboretum in Hesston, central Kansas.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHRISTA PIKE CONSCIOUS AND SPEAKING FOLLOWING FAILED EXECUTION ATTEMPT
Statement from Randy Spivey and Kelly Gleason from the TN Office of the Post Conviction Defender, and Stephen Ferrell and Luke Ihnen from Federal Defender Services of Eastern Tennessee, attorneys for Christa
Pike

NASHVILLE - Against all odds, Christa Pike is conscious, speaking, and continues to receive critical medical care. Despite the severe damage she endured to her arms, she is still handcuffed and shackled to the bed. Her recovery is medically unprecedented. Her prognosis remains unclear but, at a minimum, we expect a long recovery.

We are incredibly grateful to the first responders and the medical team at the hospital who treated Christa like a human and have provided exceptional care to her. We also want to thank thousands from all over the world who sent messages offering prayers and support for Christa.

Christa's life has been extraordinarily difficult. She survived multiple childhood rapes, which political leaders in this state acknowledge leave lifelong scars. She survived nearly 30 years of solitary confinement and, more recently, escalating restrictive confinement leading up to her execution date. She survived two complete rounds of lethal injection per Tennessee's protocol, despite her attorneys' warning to the state of specific challenges with her veins. She is the only person known to have survived a complete execution attempt in the U.S. Christa is a survivor and will take recovery one day at a time. We continue to ask the Governor of Tennessee to commute Christa
Pike's sentence to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

A press conference will be held with Christa Pike's attorneys on Wednesday, October 7 following the hearing in
Davidson County Chancery Court that begins at 11:00 a.m. CT.

Literally, her paws were calloused. She was between 7 and 11 months old, and she had beat up paw pads. It took a year for that damage to heal. She was relatively well socialized and cared for, but she was just a one too many cat. Windows are as close as she ever wants outside.

So I want to talk about something that’s a side piece to the Roko’s Basilisk cult: This concept that “by putting them in proximity to women who like men and aren't scared of men“ If you really like men, then something you want is for them to realize that criticism is a form of care.

I have made the decision to withdraw as a support act for Ed Sheeran's 'The Loop' North American Tour.

I don't take the decision lightly. Ed has been a friend to me and has changed my life, I could never thank him enough for this.

But as Irish people we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation.

I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder of children.
I would lose all respect for myself to carry on as normal.

I need to be true to myself and my ancestors who resisted colonisation, and fought for a freedom that I enjoy today in Ireland.

#bread So, I made yogurt the other day, then turned it into Greek yogurt, so had whey, which I used in a 2 pound pullman pan loaf (straight sub for water, 1-1). Yeast LOVED it. What’s normally a slow rise 2 pound became a super speedy rise with extra for a boule. Aroma’s a bit beery, good taste.
A two pound pullman loaf of white-whole wheat bread, minus one heel, and a small boule of the same dough. The pullman definitely over-rose its plan, as indicated by sharp upper edges where the dough crept under the top pan. On a cutting board, with shattery crust bits.

Look at those: freeze-dried guacamole after a trip through the food processor on the left, the jars of processed at the back, and what it produces when mixed with an equal measure of water. Perfect guacamole, no change in flavor. (My ratio is 1 lime to 2 avocados, salt, cumin, onion & garlic powder)
A pair of white fruit bowls and two mason jars on a white counter that needs a wipe down. The bowl on the left contains a green, grainy powder that is freeze-dried guacamole; the one of the right contains guacamole creates by mixing equal parts powder and water.

They were always headed for Valentine Munday* Land. Once they start denying A exists, they have to, to maintain their position, begin denying that B exists, then C, D, E until they find their internal heresy hunts divide them down to one. (*From Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke.)
“A hundred years ago the magio-historian, Valentine Munday, denied that the Other Lands existed. He thought that the men who claimed to have been there were all liars. In this he was quite wrong, but his position remains one with which I have a great deal of sympathy and I wish we could make it more generally believed. Of course,” said Mr Norrell thoughtfully, “Munday went on to deny that America existed, and then France and so on. I believe that by the time he died he had long since given up Scotland and was beginning to entertain doubts of Carlisle …”

9-19: Comfort someone who needs comfort today. Even just being quiet or just being there
9-20: Today, we do not tolerate something unjust. Speak up, even if it feels uncomfortable. Risk your peace for justice.
9-21: Donate to your local animal shelter if you can - food, time, old towels, money.
9-23: Plan for a future.
Plant some spring bulbs or your garlic patch, take in your hoses, blow out your sprinklers, or anything that speaks of confidence in a future.
9-24: Sing one more time. Get as big as you can. Feel your breath in your body.
9-25 If you're the household project manager, delegate something to every member of the household, teach them how to do it, tell them you expect them to do this task without prompting & to create their own reminders, now. If you're the managed, expect to be taught a task, do what you need to make sure you do this task, and ASK to be taught if your project manager isn't participating in 9-25. This includes children. Build equality and equity for all by teaching and expecting everyone to contribute. (For those not in such partnerships, cross train each other on your responsibilities.)
+ You are the managed if the school/vet/service providers DON'T call you, if you don't buy the gifts or arrange playdates, or manage the household inventory, or don't do these things regularly.

Subtweeting an anonymized post: Yeah, well, a 14 oz “pound” of tofu takes 216 gallons of water just to grow the soybeans, so an ounce of tofu takes 15 gallons just in beans, and in total finished takes at least 16 gallons of water to produce.
A post from on here that I anonymized because making a foolish statement shouldn’t be life-altering. The post reads:

“Each individual almond requires one gallon of water, more or less. [Shrug emoji]”

This statement, by the way, is false. Every *tree*, all trees, from mesquite to oak, need about 10 gallons of water per inch of trunk diameter. An acre of almond orchard uses a little more water than an acre of soybeans, at 2.6 acre feet per acre. Pistachios need about 3, walnuts need just under 3, etc. A single head of lettuce needs 3.5 gallons. All food is WATER.

Almonds aren’t measured in bushels per acre like soybeans, but in pounds, and almonds run about 2300 pounds per acre, so with 140 trees on average per acre, each tree is producing about 16 pounds of almonds. So at the most ridiculous math, that single almond (which average just under 1 gram, but let’s be generous and say there are 30 almonds in an ounce because there are 30 grams in an ounce) then that single almond is using less than a gallon of water (.78 gal)

BUT. Soybeans get pulled up and their plant matter gets (hopefully) composted, but more likely gets trashed in some way, meaning any carbon sink in the leaves, pods, and roots is totally wasted. Trees are permanent carbon sinks that permanently and year round convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and lock away carbon, and release cooling moisture to keep the surrounding community cooler and in better condition. A community with orchards has cleaner air, cooler nights, less salt intrusion in the aquifer, and more space and access for non-human species to thrive. The benefits of orchards of all species go FAR FAR beyond the caloric output they provide.

No correction or withdrawal of the article has ever happened. It’s still online (and not even behind their paywall). An MME chart, because people should know what drugs are. Doctors, nurses, and pharmacists rely on THIS, not on anti-medicine propaganda.
The opioid conversion chart that shows show to calculate morphine milligram equivalents.
Morphine is the standard; the standard dose of morphine sulphate is 30mg, so it is equivalent to itself.
Codeine’s standard dose is 200mg, so its conversion factor is .15.
Hydrocodone (vicodin when mixed with acetaminophen)’s standard dose is 30 mg, so its conversion factor is 1.
Hydromorphone (Dilaudid)’s standard dose is 7.5mg, so its conversion factor is 4.
Oxycodone’s (Oxycontin) standard dose is 20mg, so its conversion factor is 1.5.
Oxymorphone (generic only)’s standard dose is 10mg, so its conversion factor is 3.
Fentanyl’s standard dose is 12.5 MCG/hour, so its conversion factor is 2.4. (It’s short-acting)
Methadone comes in 4 standard doses of 1-20 mg/day at 7.5 mg, 21-40 mg/day at 3.75mg, 41-60 mg/day at 3 mg, and >61-80 mg/day at 2.5mg, so its conversion factors are 4, 8, 10, and 12 respectively.

The chart comes from Rx_SlideKit

You are not some "bastion for equality/progress". You called arabic the "language of the enemy" when I was 6, have been sued for discrimation multiple times, and are from Apartheid South Africa. You are not "saving the planet" you do not give a fuck about climate change and you're lying about multi-planetary civilization as both an excuse, and because you want to seem like the CEO from Ready Player One. I would mention the birth rate stuff, but I am not touching that weird 14-words breeder shit with a ten foot pole. Jfc, Vanity Fair, hire back your fact checker. In your article on Laura Ingalls Wilder and the deeply edited books, you make this claim (see image) That’s impossible, because the Civil War was over before LIW was born. The family was not on the draft-dodging run in her life. Ya numpties.
When they were between houses and fanciful financial endeavours, the Ingalls family would sleep on the floors of whatever friends and family would have them. Pa’s “wandering foot,” as his writer daughter kindly called it, had the bonus effect of making his whereabouts unknown during drafts for the ongoing Civil War.

Après feu, le déluge. (With no apologies to Louis, you royal bastard.) All the blue in the map? That’s all flash flood watch or warning. In fire zones.
A screengrab from Watch duty, with fires all over western Colorado and Eastern Utah, with the western side of the Continental divide in blue watch and warning colors to alert to flash flooding potential. This is common after major wild fires, because the fire both destroys all of the vegetation that would have slowed the water down, and bakes the soil into a hard, rock-like top that cannot absorb water at all.

If the left picture looks like what is your normal, make sure they test you for astigmatism. The right pic demonstrates different types of very mild double vision as seen in astigmatism, and humans are prone to developing astigmatism as we age.
A night time traffic scene, showing lens flare off of headlights, tail lights, and streetlights, which is what those of us with astigmatism see as normal at night without our glasses. It has to do with an asymmetry in our lens. Types of focus defects in human vision. All four images use aio to illustrate what focus changes look like. Upper left is the original; it is crisp and clean. Upper right is a compromise focus defect, with the aio slightly fuzzy all around the text . A horizontal focus defect means the aio is fuzzier in the long dimension and nearly normal in the center, and a vertical focus defect means the fuzz is concentrated in the middle and the width of the image.

Shoving things in people’s pants is sexual assault on its own. “Never be able to look sage and onion in the face” and the surrounding text strongly imply rape with an object, and that apple is very clearly a sexual assault on a child. And it is played for laughs.
"How should I know? It took the yudasgoat out of Sock's slaughterhouse so half the damn' things are following it around! And then it went and put old Fosdyke in his sausage machine—"
"What?"
"Oh, it didn't turn the handle. It just shoved a handful of parsley in his mouth, dropped an onion down his trousers, covered him in oatmeal and dropped him in the hopper!"
Angua's shoulders started to shake. Even Vimes grinned.
"And then it went into the poultry merchant's, grabbed Mr. Terwillie, and"
—the man stopped, aware there was a lady present, even if she was making snorting noises while trying not to laugh, and continued in a mumble-"made use of some sage and onion. If you know what I mean.."
"You mean he—?" Vimes began.
"Yes!"
His companion nodded. "Poor old Terwillie won't be able to look sage
and onion in the face again, I reckon.""By the sound of it, that's the last thing he'll do," said Vimes.
Angua had to turn her back.
"Tell him about what happened in your pork butcher's," said the man's
companion.
"I don't think you'll need to," said Vimes. "I'm seeing a pattern here."
"Right! And poor young Sid's only an apprentice and didn't deserve what

"Oh, dear," said Carrot. "Er... I think I've got an ointment that might be

"Will it help with the apple?" the man demanded.
"It shoved an apple in his mouth?"
"Wrong!"
Vimes winced. "Ouch … .
"What's going to be done, eh?" said the butcher, his face a few inches
from Vimes's.
"Well, if you can get a grip on the stem—"

/chasey goose with knife But WHY, Christianity Today, was that “massive demographic shift across the United States, where communities began to sort according to affinity, politics, and class” happening?? WHY?? Could it be … INTEGRATION and you’re not mentioning it because YOU FOLKS were driving it?
Text from a Christianity Today podcast:

But I'll hit a couple of highlights here. First, the late 70s and early 80s saw a massive demographic shift across the United States, where communities began to sort according to affinity, politics, and class. At the same time,

So… when I lived in Yuma, at 32° North, just outside the Tropic line, winter noon’s sun (so same time as Colorado, where I live ON the 40 North) felt less south. still overhead, but with a less dramatic south angle. Now it feels MUCH more south in winter.
An illustration of the angles of sunlight hitting earth at different latitudes. From Tropic of Cancer to Capricorn, the sun is mostly directly overhead. The further north or south you go, the angle from which the sun appears to hit increases.

The graph from the 2020 Cell article that started all of this. That week is data noise. Especially since a month later, it spikes again, and is higher than the DST week for all of the year after. It doesn’t come back down until the New Year’s Resolutions, and creeps back as those are abandoned.
The graph of annual fatal motor vehicle collisions broken out by week from 1996 to 2017. In 96-2006, when DTS was a slightly different configuration, the years started at about 420 weekly fatalities in the first week of January, then dropped to about 400 by the second week, and bounced between 375 and 425 until mid-March, when the DST-week goes up to about 440, but drops by April to the 420 we started the year with, then rapidly climbs through May, June, and July, staying in the weekly 450-500 range, with a low in Early September of 450 (above where we started the year and above the “DST Week”). The Autumn months stay in that 450-500 range until December, when the number drops to below 450, but not back to the January lows.

The 2007-2017 numbers are similar, with the slightly different DST configuration, and fewer fatalities because more of the US fleet was a safer fleet. January starts with about 365 deaths that first week, drops to at or below 300 through January and February, pops to 375 in that DST week, drops briefly to 350 in latter March, but is back to 375 in April and keeps climbing until it’s running 400 to 430 through mid-September, when the rate starts declining back into the 360s by end of December. That one week of Spring DST disruption does not explain why June, July, and September are statistically higher motor vehicle collision months.

PPPS: This. And also: every heat or cold injury makes you permanently more susceptible to another one. Your tolerance for heat shrinks with each heat injury, your tolerance for cold with each cold injury.
Anonymized post from someone who didn’t allow quote posts in MY thread. And therefore does not get credit.

If you get heat injuries, please note, you will not recover from them in one day. You'll be more susceptible to exhaustion from heat again the next day, and the next. Rest and remove yourself from the heat for as
long as you can.

Sure it could be. Similar facial structure. Skinny white woman blondes with hubcap cheekbones are pretty common. (though The Arkansas matters.) 1990s photo, with Fran Drescher:

No, I don’t think so. That throw blanket is a jacquard loomed woven seal of the state of Arkansas, and when fleece printing came in in the 2010s, jacquard looming fell out. My bet is Ginger Beebe, 40th first lady of Arkansas, 2007-2015.
Relatively recent photo of Ginger Beebe, a former First Lady of Arkansas. A middle-aged white woman with a chin-length blonde bob and bangs, with a big smile and prominent cheekbones. She is sittin on a red sofa with a laptop. A very recent composite pic of Ginger Beebe, with a childhood school photo of her. The woman in the unknown photo could easily be a version that fits between the almost 80 year old now Ginger and the mid 1950s child Ginger.

Want. Moar. CHIKIN.
A siamese mix cat, mostly white with brown and black spots, sits politely watching with an intense stare, waiting for more bird. This is actually as close as she comes to begging. Just guilts you into more.

Short version ———————— word vomit
A Narcissist's Prayer
That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault.
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did...
You deserved it.A truth social post from the short-fingered vulgarian having an extended whinge.

We've cleaned, renovated, and beautified over 45 Monuments and Memorials, 28 Statues, and 22 Fountains in Washington, D.C. Things are really looking good in our Nation's Capital, and add to that the fact that when I became President, Crime was rampant, and now, Washington, D.C., is one of the Safest Cities anywhere in the United States. However, we've had some real problems with Vandalism at the beautiful Reflecting Pool, which sits between The Washington Monument and The Lincoln Memorial. Just like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside of the Pool, they've also done everything possible to hurt the inside surface that was just installed. No different than the chemicals that were used on the National Mall, they used something similar in the Reflecting Pool to try to destroy and demean our beautiful work. Lightweight ABC Reporter, Jonathan Karl, was seen sticking his hand into the Pool, and trying to rip the rubber off of the surface. The algae is 75% gone, and the condition will soon be completely remedied, and the area that was vandalized, fortunately, is just a small area of damage, and will be fixed early next week. It's a shame that the Radical Left Lunatics, most likely Dumocats, who have spent their lives trying to ruin our Country, are free to do so. Law Enforcement is actively investigating this situation, and will hopefully have it resolved soon. Thank you for your attention to
this matter!

The quote is in the image. Every time I read about British courts, I thank the nice gods for Brady, Strickland, Giglio, Miranda, and every other hard-fought and won defendant’s rights case. They’re not enough, but they are something and worth having.
Owen reported:
Last month, this newspaper revealed internal documents from the Countess of Chester showing managers were concerned about the 'bullying' behaviour of two doctors towards Letby after she highlighted apparent failures of care in their neonatal unit, triggering her removal from the wards.
After Letby launched a grievance procedure against Dr Stephen Brearey and Dr Ravi Jayaram, the spital found in her favour - but by then the doctors had contacted police with their concerns about her. The juries in the resulting trials were unaware of this.

Plastic scrapers and a degreaser are my go-tos. Let the degreaser sit, use the scraper to pry off the goo. Have used them for 11 years on two induction stovetops with no damage (the first induction died of control board failure, not surface failure). Nylon scrapers like these:
Little brown plastic squares with both rounded and sharp corners, and thin edges, intended to scrape off hard, burnt on food from surfaces safely.

5 petals, back to old school roses, think York, Lancaster, and Tudor. The ones that can literally live for centuries.
The heraldic York Rose, a stylized white, 5 petaled rose with yellow center and green leaves at each point.

That’s David Hicks, Lady Pamela’s husband, (not a toff, just a middling rich brit by birth and interior designer to the toffs) and that’s an old pic - he died in 1998. Of lung cancer. He was a chain smoker. So my bet is that’s somehow an effect of the cancer or the treatment. This is them in 1979.
Same couple as above, Lady Pamela Mountbatten and David Hicks, in 1979. She’s wearing a white fuzzy hat, pearls, and a purple blouse or top; he’s got a lichen-y green suit and tie on, and while he looks like he wants a smoke, whatever happened later in life has not yet happened to his face and neck.

I see your profile picture. That's Johnny Cash. My hero too. Arrested seven times. Smuggled 668 amphetamines across the Mexican border in 1965. Took every drug there was and drank like I did. Cheated on his first wife. Slept with more woman than I ever did. Hit bottom in a cave in Tennessee in 1968 trying to crawl off and die. And then he got up. He got clean. He spent the rest of his life singing for prisoners and addicts and the people the country threw away because he knew he was one of them.

That was the whole point of the Man in Black. He wore it for the poor and the beaten down. He wore it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime. He wore it for the ones who never heard a word of Jesus. He wore it for the addicted and the dying. He wore it as a standing witness that
no one is past saving.

You picked his picture. You did not pick his message. Try listening to the words.
