Back in the 1990s, this is how you discovered trans people existed outside of the straight sex workers on Jerry Springer.

The pastel-pink site Transsexuality at transsexual.org, as it looked in 1998. Although the information was primitive by today's standards, it was a welcoming place, and even noted the existence of trans men, who are still barely acknowledged by mainstream society.

I did my undergrad Fine Art thesis on Threatened Species, "Anthropocene of the Crime." I made a murder investigation board for my installation of 58 paintings of 60 species, with accompanying detail. I have a dedicated blog for this project anthropoceneofthecrime.wordpress.com

The full 8 x 4 foot murder investigation board installation. There are 58 paintings arranged around a map of the world, with labels along the sides containing definitions of the classifications (i.e. CR = Critically Endangered, etc.) and along the bottom are printed articles and "proof" outlining the probably causes of the various threats. Strings and pins link each painting to a location on the map, a cause for the threats, a suspect and their classification. Other graphics and charts showing statistics and pertinent information are also displayed.
