not sure what "candy bar" actually means in english so its either a bar of plain dark chocolate, or if that doesn't count as a "candy bar", a kinder chocolate

deleted another reply about custom spock hair bc changed my mind: after seeing 40240 bowlcut hairpiece irl i no longer think it viable, and also seeing how the classic 3901 smooth hair works v well for spock in lego animations, i arrive at the notion that its either that or the other one i found
custom lego spock featured in "trouble with tribbles" re-creation by lucky horseshoe films on youtube. he's wearing hair part number 3901, the classic 70s short smooth hairthe pigtails hairpiece number 3625 is even more retro than the 3901. it is back from 1975, several years before the version without pigtails, and from what i gather it's the first minifigure hair lego ever made. the pigtails are these thin protrusions jutting downwards to the sides. don't make me explain this pick, its all vibes, i am being silly with it

i just saw someone posting about "wharton school of business" "best countries index" study and i noticed some extremely silly results on the map attached in the post so i look at the methodology and lol
Globalization has expanded a country’s presence beyond its
physical borders, and the Best Countries report – now in
its tenth year – seeks to examine a nation’s worth beyond
hard metrics.
The rankings project is based on how global perceptions define
countries in terms of a number of qualitative characteristics –
impressions that have the potential to drive trade, travel and
investment, and can directly affect national economies. The 2026
analysis covers perceptions of 85 nations.
The study and model used to score and rank countries were
developed by global marketing and communications services
company WPP and its proprietary BAV brand analytics tool
and by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania,
specifically Professor David Reibstein.A set of 73 country attributes – terms that can be used to describe
a country that are also relevant to the success of a modern nation
– were identified. Various attributes and nations were presented in
a survey of 15,131 people from across the globe from December
15, 2025 to late February 24, 2026. Participants assessed whether
they associated an attribute with a nation.
Each country was scored on each of the 73 country attributes
based on a collection of individual survey responses. The more
a country was perceived to exemplify a certain characteristic in
relation to the average, the higher that country’s attribute score,
and vice versa. These scores were transformed into a scale that
could be compared across the board.
Attributes were grouped into 10 thematic factors that rolled
into the Best Countries rankings: Adventure, Agility, Cultural
Influence, Entrepreneurship, Heritage, Movers, Open for
Business, Power, Quality of Life, and Social Purpose. Factor scores
for each country were determined by averaging the scores that
country received in each of the attributes comprising that factor.
To determine the weight each factor had in the overall Best
Countries score, the factors were correlated to 2025 gross
domestic product at purchasing power parity per capita – a
measure of inclusive prosperity comparable across countries – as
reported by the World Bank. The standardized correlations served
as the weights for each of the factors.

dude, only now that they released the official pics im seeing that they actually made all the bridges red trimmings / railings "reddish orange" instead of "red"!! that's actually inspired! my new fave thing about this thing next to the corridor greebling. i cant wait for the full list of parts!
lego star trek tos bridge set (an official "lifestyle" photo)

okay, yo, whew, the star trek set is available from preorder on lego. i think that confirms no exclusive gwp evil nonsense. anyway, lol at this picture bc i was wondering what space bugs are supposed to be represented by these cheese slopes before i realized they're for changing the alarm level
official product photo (i think, or a render) of the star trek tos bridge set. there's a trans-red cheese slope on the navigation console representing the red alarm going off. on the table surface between the sub-builds of the model there lay a trans-clear and a trans-yellow cheese slopes. they're just chilling on the ground like if they're some kind of space slugs

While Ani looks almost completely identical to Lilo, the biggest difference is her dress. Both of which are the same red, but Ani’s dress has a white flower pattern whereas Lilo’s is patterned with leaves.

also there's part 24791, last seen in 2022. wish it already existed in "medium nougat", like the one above. also looking at part 98726 with a superman curl but man, 24791 has a widow's peak! anyway, there were like… multiple options already in the parts catalog!! why 23186! too spiky!
lego hairpiece 24791: presented on the top of Pixar's Mr. Incredible head, with a fluffy tuft of a widow's peak… i dont know how to describe hairstyles…lego hairpiece 98726: a fuller head of hair with a wavy lock coming down on the face

i like the ball joint tribble quite a lot. i think its a bold choice, round big. so i dont know if could come up with anything better but i am itching for someone to try the hedgehog mould from friends as tribbles to see how they work in context
baby hedgehog from lego friends looks sorta like a fuzzy pinecone. this one has no face so could be used for a tribble right away

ala @cygaj.cc · 19/07/2026
i find it amusing for them to bring up the idea of playing out trouble with tribbles but there's only four tribbles in the box and they're not even pregnant
minifigure scene from the leaked box: uhura, mccoy, kirk, and spock standing near the turbolift, each holding a tribble—according to the leaks so far there's supposed to be four tribbles in this set of 1701 pieces total

i hope the set provides a tile shooter so you can recreate the classic star trek scene of spock shooting that plomeek back at chapel

mind, i dont remember the details of the plot bc it was a while since ive seen it, but im googling "tng drumhead office chair" and there's like a klingon in this office chair and arrggghhh amazing (i forgot what his deal was; ill never do a full tng rewatch, but i need to see this one again badly)
worf is talking at another klingon who is seated on a chair and its this tense situation and the klingon, or whatever his deal was, has a combadge, but not a starfleet uniform but some traditional klingon fashion i guess, anyway he does not look like he works in an office, but the chair he's seated in is a generic rolling office chair, and in this shot you can clearly see the outlines of all the ergo adjustment levers and its killing me

my neighbour had one like this: you put the cartridge in the slot covered with a flap over the keyboard; there was like 500 8-bit games on it and it was my only mario exposure as a child
GLK-2002: a clone of a Pegasus console which itself was a Famicom clone. I mean this is like innards clone I guess because on the outside this particular model is simply a PC keyboard with a cartridge slot. There are two gamepads styled after the original PlayStation pads. And a light-gun, styled after… an actual 9mm gun???

i assembled a playmobil tree for this plastic plant display but its a dubious addition because my cat will soon knock it over and i wont pick it back up for months on end
same toys on shelf as photo above but now theres also a playmobil tree in the mix. the lego mentioned but not described previously includes a scene on a green mini baseplate that has a vintage elephant, horse and bunch of plant pieces. lego palm interplays nicely with the leaves on the venusaur's back

ala @cygaj.cc · 07/06/2026
speak of the devil, look what i brought back home from the flea market today (i mean the papa venusaur; the bulba is "my other plastic toy bulbasaur" i've mentioned and have had for years)
venusaur and bulbasaur sitting on a shelf; both are decently sized plastic toys. some lego here as well

ala @cygaj.cc · 07/06/2026
i also enjoy the squircle squirtle in a car but the msrp is larger than bulbasuar, and those large plastic wheels take up good part of the bulk of the set, and there are stud shooters, so i dont think i could justify that one when the part list is out (unless someone sell it for silly change online)

'Captain, you almost make me believe in luck.'
Passage from a book:
'As you may know, in the service our Commodore is known as Lucky Jack Aubrey. I am not prepared to enter into the concept of luck, as it is vulgarly called: philosophically it is indefensible; in daily experience we see it to exist. All I will say is, that Captain Aubrey seems to possess it in an eminent degree; and it is that which cheers my sometimes pensive nights.'

i think i payed more attention to whether a force toggle exists for non-boolean attributes but i dont see it still, rn. i see a 'force' attribute on toggleAttribute but thats only for boolean attrs, and i mean this (tho i gotta remember to use builtin toggle for boolean ones now)
Element.prototype.boolAttr = function(test,attr,val) {
  test ? this.setAttribute(attr,val ?? '') : this.removeAttribute(attr);
  return !!test;
};
000
ala @cygaj.cc · 26/04/2026
jesus christ how did i not read the part of the docs that say its already the feature of the builtin toggle function… i mean ofc it is, its nobrainer, but i thought i was looking at it but i apparently i forgot to look, on multiple occasions
force (Optional): If included, turns the toggle into a one way-only operation. If set to false, then token will only be removed, but not added. If set to true, then token will only be added, but not removed.

this is what happens when i run `window.open([path], "_self", "opener")`. i dont know what the top line in the console represents or how to access it because window.opener returns null
at the top of the console a reference to previous window can be seen, but i dont know how to access it, `window.opener` is null itself

UPDATE!!! i accessed window . opener when using window . open to open… very same page im currently on… ????
firefox console messages. `window.opener` is null at first. then i run `window.open("", "_self", "opener")`. afterwards `window.opener` value is the same as `window.self` value

The 3 sites, "example.com", "example.net" and "example.org", all point to the exact same page on the site's web host. It is done by hosting all three sites on the same web host, and arranging it so that they all resolve to the same account. If the webmaster of "example.com" were to add (say) a picture of a dog to the page, that image will show up in all 3 domains.

Update (January 2011): the organisation controlling the "example.com", "example.net" and "example.org" domains has just changed the behaviour of those domains so that typing those names into your browser no longer yield the behaviour I described above. Sorry, but it looks like you'll have to rely on my description above without a real life example.

Update of Update (January 2014): it looks like the example domains have reverted back to the behaviour I described above. Since I don't control those domains (they are sort of held in trust on behalf of the Internet to be used as examples), I'm leaving this list of updates around so that if the behaviour changes yet again, you will know what has happened. I wish they'll stop fiddling with it. What's the use of an example if it cannot be relied upon to serve as one?
