I saw one of these for the first time a few months ago!! Platydemus manokwari I believe. I’m not actually sure if it’s invasive or not where I live; there’s a lot of conflicting sources, but Malaysia is at least on the Pacific Ocean? Either way, I also love their silly little faces.

The image is cosy and warmly coloured.

A human, alien, and robot hang out in zero gravity aboard a cluttered spaceship. The human laughs as the lion-maned alien snags a marshmallow with a long tongue. The robot, which has a visor for a face and wires for hair, hangs onto the alien’s mane. Items such as masking tape and a laptop float around them.

I’m still alive, haha. Got hit with one of the longest arm pain flareups in June/July, then got costochondritis, probably due to my dad being in and out of hospital since August, and then just when things were looking up, I broke my arm. Had to get surgery and am still recovering. Shaky thumbs up

Forgor to share pictures. Had a very good first con experience! Lovely neighbours, a lot of compliments, made back my booth cost and ran out of business cards by day 1. Didn’t manage to break even but now I have Market Knowledge (TM) for next time.

Answering that question made me realise I forgot to share these! I tried oil painting for the first time last year; these are my 2nd and 3rd paintings. The 1st one was a boring and janky still life, so I left it out. 3rd one is also technically incomplete, I missed a spot before I photographed it.

3) If you count school, I did art until Year 9 I think? Before we chose classes for O-levels, at which point I dropped it. Outside of school, I’ve done one Chinese calligraphy class and a photography workshop. I’d like to take a watercolour or oil painting class someday.

Life cycle for my aliens, karraguls, from July 2024. Having raised tadpoles now, I might change the larva - I assumed the legs developed from nubs, then grew fingers, but it turns out they grow legs inside their body cavity and then pop them out fully-formed, but tiny! #alien #specbio #karragul
