Iconify is constantly growing, domain has passed a big milestone: 10 billion requests in last 30 days! It is a double of what it was a year ago. While project is free, servers cost money. If you are using Iconify, please consider supporting the project: iconify.design/sponsors/

Added more open source icon sets to Iconify. There are now 218 icon sets with 317k icons! Hosting that many icons on API is expensive. Traffic is massive (attached stats). Please do consider supporting Iconify if you can, as current support barely covers hosting: iconify.design/sponsors/

There are many excellent icons with multiple colors, but hardcoded palette makes them hard to use. Now, when using Iconify icon packages, you can customise colors, opacity and stroke-width of icons using CSS variables! See documentation: iconify.design/docs/usage/s...

Just noticed that Cloudflare has a new option (new to me, might have been there for a while) to block AI bots. Enabled on all websites. All open source data is available in git repos, no need for bots to crawl pages

Iconify Unplugin now supports multiple ways of rendering CSS for icons: - Import CSS files - CSS modules - Embed CSS in SVG Importing CSS files is default - it reduces duplication and keeps small class names. CSS modules is one of options for using plugin with Next github.com/iconify/icon...

Update to Iconify Unplugin: added option to render full SVG instead of SVG+CSS. Why would you want that? - To support legacy browsers if fallback icon is not available. - Next.js - it doesn't allow css files outside of App.tsx, which sucks. Result is similar to using Unplugin Icons

Announcing new way of rendering icons: Iconify Unplugin. This is heavily inspired by Unplugin Icons, but with one big difference: icons are rendered as SVG + CSS. GitHub repo: github.com/iconify/icon... Currently it supports components for: Vue, Svelte, React, Preact. This is an alpha release.

Published icon components for Vue for all icon sets: "@ iconify-vue/prefix" (where "prefix" is icon set prefix). These are experimental components, rendering icons as SVG+CSS: cyberalien.dev/articles/svg... To import an icon, import it from "@ iconify-vue/prefix/name" Usage example:

A different method of rendering SVG that I think can replace SVG sprites in future: SVG + CSS: cyberalien.dev/articles/svg... Unfortunately, it cannot be used in production yet. Safari does not support it.

While many developers use things like Tailwind and UnoCSS these days, which are excellent for productivity, I prefer to code the old way and still using Sass. Vite still uses old API to parse Sass. To use a faster modern API, add this to Vite config (in Nuxt config wrap it in "vite" prop):
