I honestly think this is just more public messaging trying to lean into ‘Claude is alive‘ and they’re just using this to both feed that and save on token costs. The more they can convince people that ‘Claude is actually thinking!’ the more they can drive the hype. Maybe I’m just cynical though

Did Anthropic call that out anywhere as the actual reason? Again, I totally believe that to be functionally true (though I haven’t seen it studied) but I don’t think I’m foolish enough to imagine they did it for actual humanitarian reasons. They’re still trying to convince investors.

I think while in office they can buy healthcare on DC Health link which offers some gold tier plans (ACA exchange) after retirement they’re stuck with the federal pension healthcare system all fed employees are, at least that’s my understanding.

🙃 No, its pretty simple. I expect the Democratic Party to have a better plan than doing nothing obvious, waiting hopefully for the midterms and just yelling about how bad things are. I’m old enough to remember a time the minority party did enough to gum up the works to stop nominations. What a time.

I’ve been using www.fastmail.com for years and like them. I oddly feel better about actually paying email/calendar. Their AI stance seems to be ‘we offer a MCP endpoint to use if you want, but that’s totally optional‘. Awesome to actually have standards complaint IMAP too

Not saying hiding stock isn’t a bad choice. Also fireable though, it’s a question of one’s personal risk tolerance. It’s less likely to get fired for that vs downright denying a sale, sure! Standing up for what’s right is often risky, but honestly that’s part of what makes doing it so important.
