i feel like people use "Themes" and "Knowhow" in fandom spaces to stay at arm's length from the true emotional core of stories. like a scene isn't just it's meaning in the narrative, you know. it's also like, it's own thing with its own feelings attached. EATEOT isn't 6 hours of dementia only

I've never seen anyone point out that you have to go out of bounds to see two halves of FRIEND in mantle 1 and the obvious implications that sets on the game and how everything out of bounds is fucking INSANELY important. EXPLAIN THAT to me if you think FRIEND is just some goon

it is also stupid to say Friend is behind EVERY mystery but consider: we didn't know who did what in chapter 4 and FRIEND is scary and the unknown so it makes sense when looking in the dark we made up shit that overfit to the new info we had
