Stage-Struck Tora-san (1978) has its highlights when Nana Kinomi as Nanako is torn between her love for her job at a revue and the man she loves wanting to marry her (for which she'd have to end her career). But often the movie feels a bit aimless.

Pocket Love, being the Gameboys first Dating Sim, coming from no other than KID, is pretty much TokiMemo light: Only half a school year, no bombs, easy to get your stats up and have several girls fall for you. The gimmick apparently was that it came with a CD to play for voided dialogue.

Gacha games are baseline morally objectable and in a better world would not exist. But IF you can ignore the menu where all the screaming buttons try to FOMO you into a gambling addiction as best as possible (it's not entirely), the rest of Infinity Nikki is cute and kinda alright.

And thus the NES version of Dragon Quest III is beaten. There is some 8bit clunk in here (it is really really slow), but the game's way more playable than I expected going in. New ranking of the versions I've played would be: SNES > GBC > NES > HD-2D

It happened. Ten years after Blood Omen 2 turned me off the Legacy of Kain franchise, I did finally finish it off with Defiance thanks to the remaster. The game to play if you want a well written and acted narrative, mediocre fighting, and dogshit platforming in one neat package!

Fell back into my rhythm game rabbit hole. Rebought Theathrhythm Final Bar Line for PS5 as an excuse to fully play through it again, and so that I could stream it, got all the DLC (shame it omits Moongazing, Minut & Dreams of the Shore Near Anothter World), even made it to the Platinum Trophy.

A Touch of Fever (1993) is an interesting movie. If you just tune out, it seems to be about nothing, yet if you pay attention every sentence and every pregnant pause seems to be layered with implications and subtext that the movie sternly refuses to ever turn into plain text.

I think I'm calling it done with Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Touch de Dokodon at 34 of 35 songs unlocked. I made it to 9th dan on the Everyday Dojo, but there is no way I'll get through another 7 oni mode challenges to reach grandmaster and unlock the final one, haha.

It looks, walks, and quacks like Pokemon, but it's Gegege no Kitarou: Youkai Souzoushu Arawaru! Tho here the yokai randomly join at the end of battle and for story reasons. Which is told in 4 episodes of yokai trouble yet it still should not take longer than a few hours to beat.

Bokura No Kisetsu (1983) has a gay couple befriend a young woman who's willing to birth a child for them to raise, while an estranged older couple they know reunites. As a pink film (which I think was the norm for queer cinema at the time) it's a breezy 60 minutes of mostly good vibes.

It's nothing special to find out that a BL actor was also a Kamen Rider, 99% of them did Tokusatsu, but it still tickles me that the actors of three of my favorite BL dramas happened to be together in the _same_ Kamen Rider as main riders (Build).

Tora-san's Lullaby (1974). I've just gotten used to Tatsuo Matsumura as the uncle and now we have yet a third actor taking over the role. That's really rare, usually everyone stays throughout the series, and indeed Masami Shimojō will keep the role until its end 20 years later.

The Sinking City fin. An interesting game about investigating a Lovecraftian infected city on foot, boat and diving suit, where everyone is kinda just "I guess that's the new normal" and goes on with their life. Combat's really annoying tho.
