Maybe I’m just feeling hopeful or something - but perhaps this is the start of an internet that de-centers Google as a fundamental connection point of discovery. Tangentially I wonder what this will do to websites that use Google search as their website search? I hate it already. Sounds worse now!

Made this nemesis by phone. To be clear, I did not get mouthy back. She never even let me ask my real question. I get it. Working for an institution being openly sabotaged from the top does not make for a good workplace. So go in-person to pick up my never-delivered package. Criminal understaffing.

I have new neighbors across the hall in my apt building and they’ve put a ring camera on their door. Obvious concerns aside, my issue is that there is really nothing to capture but my door. 24/7. Now I have to decide if I want to have an antagonistic relationship with a new neighbor.

Sort of genius for wmata to do market testing on April fools day, I gotta say. There’s enough folks there with just enough money and plenty of kids with train and bus hyperfixations that they might just be able to make real bus lanes.

I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors. Great work everyone.
The Board of Governors decided, unilaterally, that no published textbook in the field of sociology could be used in compliance with the law for an Intro to Sociology class. None.
Victor: There's not a single existing textbook on the market that could be used that would qualify under state law?
Zachary: Correct.
Victor: I'm sorry, that's kind of funny. Like, the absurdity of not a single sociology textbook getting past the censors. I mean, it makes me kind of proud of our colleagues, but...
