I just set up my first 'plant stand'. It's at the end of my driveway, and I have basil, thyme, dill, and marigolds. Let's see what happens😀

Needed some time away from the keyboard to let the brain rest a bit, so I potted up a bunch of marigolds. All these came from seeds I collected last fall. I think I have enough to get a 2nd tray going. It's a bit late, so we'll see.

Sometimes, no matter what you do, things just don’t go your way — even when you’re livestreaming (looking at you, audio gremlins 👿 ). The good news? Even when things don’t go as planned, there’s always a quiet win hiding somewhere. I did end up with a great diagram! Keep building. Keep learning.

“We’re just swapping Cloudflare for CloudFront. Should be easy, right?” This week’s project involved migrating DNS, caching rules, and WAF policies — and trying to avoid waking the dragon. Happy Friday!

Not all AWS costs come from bad decisions. Some just come from... silence. A customer recently got hit with a surprise bill—hundreds of dollars tied to unused EBS volumes left in the “available” state. Not attached, not used—just quietly burning cash. So I built a simple 💬 ChatOps solution 💬

I’ve been using this analogy lately to explain VPC Lattice auth policies: ✅ Network-level policies = NACLs ✅ Service-level policies = Security Groups It’s a layered security model. More power, more complexity. Quick breakdown from a stream 👇

I've been using VPC Lattice on a new project recently, and I absolutely love it. Would I say that it has helped 'simplify connectivity' - no, but that may also be user related 😀

How much time a day do you spend looking up AWS account numbers? I know I spend quite a bit of time looking up those 12-digit IDs.
