In the final play of the game Saanich gave up a pen which would be put in to send us to pens. In pens both teams would miss their second shots but would both score the rest of their five shots. on the 6th Saanich would score theirs with bays having theirs saved. Final score 3-3 (5-4) Saanich (7/7)

They shortly afterwards found a second. Saanich would keep up the pressure and had a clear shot blocked by a bays defender’s hand in the box. The defender would receive a red for this action and Saanich got a pen to go ahead for the first time tonight but it wouldn’t be for long. (6/7)

and last up was between Bays United(d1) and Saanich fusion(d2). I ended up missing the first 15 or so minutes but the rest of the half, bays dominated slotting 2 away. In the second half Saanich was driving play trying to get just one which they would find in the 60th. (5/7)

There were chances on both sides but no one could slot one home so we were off to pens. Both scored their first couple until comox’s third which was just a bit off and bounced off the post. The highlanders would then score the rest of their pens to advance. Final score 2-2 (5-4) highlanders (4/7)

on Sunday first up was between the highlanders (d1) and Comox valley (d1). The highlanders started strong winning a pen which they would convert and then score a second just before half to lead by 2. In the second half comox came out swinging and managed to equalize around the 60 minute mark. (3/7)

The only goal came off an iffy foul in the box to give cowichan a pen which would be the only goal. To be honest I’m suprised there wasn’t more cards as the ref lost control of the match before the first 45 were up. Full time 1-0 cowichan (2/7)

This weekend I ended up catching a couple Sir John Jackson round of 16 matchups. first up on friday was between Lakehill (d1) and cowichan (d1). It was a feisty affair with around 7 or 8 yellows and a red card handed out post match for dissent. (1/7)
