In the final play of the game Saanich gave up a pen which would be put in to send us to pens. In pens both teams would miss their second shots but would both score the rest of their five shots. on the 6th Saanich would score theirs with bays having theirs saved. Final score 3-3 (5-4) Saanich (7/7)

There were chances on both sides but no one could slot one home so we were off to pens. Both scored their first couple until comox’s third which was just a bit off and bounced off the post. The highlanders would then score the rest of their pens to advance. Final score 2-2 (5-4) highlanders (4/7)

The only goal came off an iffy foul in the box to give cowichan a pen which would be the only goal. To be honest I’m suprised there wasn’t more cards as the ref lost control of the match before the first 45 were up. Full time 1-0 cowichan (2/7)

Second up was a Tony Grover masters cup match between VW huddy huddy and fernwood Zgodans. It was a physical match with quite a few fouls but the huddy’s scored a couple on fast breaks. Fernwood would score on a corner but the huddy’s were too much. Final 3-1 huddy huddy

Got out to a couple VISL cup games today. First up was a George Pearkes cup match between the undefeated Fc Sagres (d4) and cook st soul (d4). Sagres was attacking fast and strong the whole game but only managed one goal. Thankfully it was enough to win. Final 1-0 FC Sagres

but it was a stoppage time goal that saw Nanaimo tie the game at 2 and they wouldn’t stop pushing and it led to a late chance with a guy on the the leftside taking a shot with no one to beat but the keeper and just put it wide in which would turn out to be the final play of the game

Tonight I attended a #VISL doubleheader spread out over 2 fields first up was a Div 1 matchup at Goudy turf between Vic west and the highlanders it was a 5-0 thrashing by Vic west which puts them 2 games away from clinching the league.

Was out in Sooke today to watch the Powell River Villa take on the Sooke Celtic a couple of great goals including an olimpico but sadly Powell river lost 2-1
