Former Labor strategist Kos Samaras has summed up the situation regarding the Coalition pretty well I feel. The sentiment is similar to what PK voiced tonight on the ABC. #auspol #farrer
Kos Samaras says the following in a post on Facebook.

Farrer By-election.

In 2025, urban Australians showed the Liberal Party the door. Tonight, regional Australians are doing the same. The campaign they ran in this seat was one of the worst | have ever seen, negative, hopeless, and entirely about what Canberra thinks. No hope. It reinforced everything voters have come to despise about
this party.

One Nation is clearly now the preferred party of small town Australia. Labor the preferred party of big city Australia. Bread crumbs left for what is left of Menzies’ party and yes, the Nationals.

ADVOCACY WIN. Yesterday the ACT Government released an updated Schedule of Fees for the user of Public Unleased Land - a welcome relief after the shock of initial fees to charge PER DAY for road and path closures across the Territory. These additional fees, imposed without consultation, could have added thousands of dollars to existing and future projects - and had a significant impact on the feasibility of developments and housing delivery across Canberra. We commend the ACT Government and Minister Chris Steel for listening to our concerns and postponing these new charges. We will continue to work with the Directorate on proposed charges to get the balance right."

Dear "nobody", LSC already does this. You are welcome to follow what we are doing through our social media, website, or come listen into one of our meetings. #canberra #livingstreets #betterstreets #construction #advocacy
"Nobody" commented: The pampered people of the inner north complain about nearly everything. There is a large trench dug right next to that footpath, so the area needs to be closed to the public while that part of the construction is undertaken. It would be helpful if Living Streets Canberra could explain how “protecting the walkway by using shipping containers to make a tunnel” would be any use in this situation. There is no overhead construction taking place at the moment, so no overhead protection is required, the area is closed so they can safely excavate and then re-fill that trench. The government should defund the Conservation Council for wasting time and money. A few months ago they tried to prevent a new mobile tower in Ainslie, last month they were whinging about ActewAGL supporting the local sporting community, and now they are whining about the need for pedestrians to cross the road for a short time. Why doesn't the Conservation Council and Living Streets Canberra also complain about the footpaths and cycleways closed for several years while construction of light-rail is undertaken?

Andrew Barr says on LinkedIn:
London Circuit east will reopen to vehicles in both directions between Commonwealth Avenue and Constitution Avenue from early tomorrow morning (Sunday 18 May). The reopening will help reduce the pressure on Constitution Avenue and ease congestion on the eastern side of the city. Buses will also no longer be detoured around Vernon Circle. A number of new pedestrian footpath links and dedicated cycle lanes will open in the coming weeks. Other finishing and landscape works continuing throughout June.A map reflecting that the south eastern side of London Cct is reopening on Sunday the 18th of May 2025. The south west section will remain closed.
