I don’t usually address this question in my interviews directly but I notice when candidates bring it up themselves. If I were interviewing an engineer though, you bet I’d dive into that (I typically don’t interview engineers)

For me I’m largely looking for people who understand how to safeguard, fact-check with multiple models, understand which parts of their job are benefited by AI use and which are not. People who can build repeatable tools and workflows and not introduce new risk over and over.

Man I wish our society wasn’t so messed up that it’s incredibly hard to find a neighborhood with both walkability and great public schools that’s affordable. Not all of us want to live in the suburbs. Not all of us support private schools. Not all of us are rich.
