I was proud to join the John Jay College community at its annual blood drive. As we honor and remember the 67 members of the John Jay community who were killed on 9/11, we are reminded of the importance of caring for one another.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Shirley Strum Kenny, former President of @queenscollegecuny.bsky.social and a tenacious advocate for public higher education and first-generation students. I came to know Dr. Kenny during my years at Queens College and through alumni events in Washington, D.C.

CUNY’s food pantries are open to all students regardless of their home campus, and some may be extending their hours of operation to accommodate increased need, including stocking extra supplies. Students should confirm hours of operation before they visit: cuny.edu/foodpantries.
