Without saying your age, what is your favourite movie that came out when you were 20 years old?

Some drone photos taken today along the stretch of canal between Leixlip and Carton. All diligently taken in the Green Airspace. I know I take adherence to the airspace laws more seriously than many, but they are laws that make everyone safer and that I therefore champion.

I start my IBM internship on Tuesday. I tried the cycle route today to see if I can handle it. I managed the round trip and am a little wrecked. But I won't be doing the round trip in one go at work. I'll have eight hours to recover. This is also 30 minutes faster than the bus.

A screenshot from the flow e-bike app detailing the route taken from maynooth to IBM, how long the trip took, the round trip distance of approx 40km, the average speed of approx 23 km/h and other statistics.

I think we should be learning a lot more than just Arabic Numerals. Also that we should be learning the history of Arabic, Indian and Chinese Mathematics.

I am unreasonably proud of how cleanly everything works. I still don't think I like React, but as a MERN project, this is one I can stand behind. It's open source, it works really well, and it ties into the discord bot so that you can roll off your sheet in downtime

America and her presidents need to stop pretending that they're not a violent nation. They are funding arming and supporting a genocide in Gaza. They have state sponsored violence against BIPOC And Charlie Kirk was a terrorist who incited this kind of violence, just not at people who look like him.

While I am not an immigrant, or rather that my ancestors immigrated here as much as ~3500 years ago, this all stands to reason. It is al true. And none of it should need to be said. We absolutely must stop the racist diatribe around immigration. There can be no room for it.

Hello, my fellow Irish citizens. bBeating up Irish People of Colour and immigrants won't get you a house. Terrorising our kids won't shorten your hospital waiting list. Screaming "Go back!" won't make one bus run on time. We are not your enemy.
You do have a constitutional right - and a duty - to question your government. Ask why you can't afford a home when Ireland has one of the lowest social housing rates in Europe (jsut 9% compared to the EU average of 30%). Ask why over 900,000 are on hospital waiting lists and why emergency departments are consistently overcrowded. Ask why public transport is underfunded despite record tax revenue, why nightlife is dying due to restrictive licensing, why schools are under-resourced and why your friends and family are leaving. Ask why the same politicians have been failing for 25 years straight and why you've let it happen. Spoiler alert: It's not because of immigrants. Here's a fact. Ireland doesn't even have enough builders, nurses, doctors, or carers to meet its own needs. According to government data, we need 50,000 extra construction workers by 2030 just to keep up with housing demand. Our health service depends heavily on international staff - nearly 1 in 3 nurses and 1 in 5 doctors are from abroad. Even Irish construction workers are leaving because living here has become to expensive. That's not on us - that's on government failure. And here's the kicker: even if every immigrant "went back" tomorrow, nothing would improve. You'd still be stuck with broken systems and leaders who don't care. So maybe - just maybe - direct your anger where it belongs: hold power accountable, not your neighbours or their children.

This is why I can't take the UK's investigation into Kneecap seriously.

On the top, an article discussing effigies of kneecap, Irish flags and sectarian slogans on bonfires in Northern Ireland's July 12th Bonfire night.
On the bottom an article discussing the British police investigation into Kneecap for their anti-Israel stance.

I was taking you at your word. If you were lying about your race then, I have no reason to assume anything you have said has been in earnest or honest. In point of fact, nothing you have to say from now on can be assumed to be honest. You are a liar one way or the other. Goodbye.

This will serve as the inaugral photo for the first version of my uploader for adding images to points of interest on my site tracker. I'm getting there, there are some conceptual jumps I have to make, like how to handle JWT tokens timing out, the sample code I have is incomplete on that.

all 40,000 sites being displayed. It's a bit of a beast to load at present. But I am 99% certain that's because it's being loaded in React's dev environment and once I move it to prod environment, it'll be faster.
