Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Ah gotcha, sorry I misread your initial post and thought you were going for the opposite, mCPBA should be ideal for your purposes and I'm glad to hear it's working! 000
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Very happy to share that our recent work, titled: "Condensing the Cage: Novel Insights Into the Reaction Pathway of Isowurtzitane Cage Formation" has been published in Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics. Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 08/09/2026If you want a radical mechanism, aren't you better off with H₂O₂? Iirc, peracid compounds always favour the anionic mechanism as the acid is a good leaving group, so the per-oxygen can act as an electrophile. Not saying it wouldn't work, I'm not sure, but I'd try H₂O₂. 111
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 10/06/2025Here's to another success Go With The Flow conference! Thank you to all those who attended, we hope you gained something useful from the event. Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 06/05/2025If you aren't already familiar with the Tom Hanks movie 'A man called Otto', you should check it out - or the original book, 'A man called Ove'. Kinda reminds me of this story. 050

Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 08/02/2025It will take over your life completely... And it's absolutely worth it. Who needs Vitamin D anyways? 000
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 18/01/2025Okay but where are you buying 𝘣𝘢𝘨𝘴 of cured meats 👀... Asking for a friend. 110
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 14/01/2025Damn I've personally not seen that problem so I've never even thought about it, but I can absolutely see that being complete rubbish 010
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 14/01/2025But all talks include Q+A? An E.Career focused Q+A is nice, but is not suitable for events not about that, the scope is too broad. I've never seen an event where poster discussion isn't encouraged. I'm at an E.Career stage myself, so it's not like I lack sympathy for junior researchers. I am one! 100
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 14/01/20253) Give me networking in exchange for my hard work I put in organising 4) Elevate the name of the event for more renown. Surely the onus should be on prevalent speakers to not deliver the same talk over and over? Especially over years? 2/2 100
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 14/01/2025I'm currently organising the second annual event of a meet I founded, I'm curious for your take on this: From my perspective big names: 1) Attract attendees and sponsors, whose money we need. 2) Give networking to Early career presenters + attendees /1 100
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 13/01/2025If you're down to spend more - look for 'swiss water' on single origin coffees - it's a process name that is ~solid for maintaining flavour (I could start a whole thread, it's a fascinating subject) Also, Rooibos tea is naturally caffeine free! I'm a fan of the TikTok brand Earl Grey Rooibos. 030
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 08/01/2025I was always taught to keep the numbers notating substituent position low as a rule of thumb, so I'd start from the double bond, giving: (R)-4,4-dimethyl-7-ethyl-3-pentylnonene, I think. Although I'm pretty sure all that really matters is internal consistency with the name. 100
Campbell Wolfe @cswolfe.bsky.social · 08/12/2024Always interesting to see what fundamentals have not been fully challenged in recent years. I definitely recommend checking out this work from @markelliottcardiff.bsky.social. This one's going to be a hard habit to break! 080
