A joint statement from the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Jewish Leadership Council and Community Security Trust on the Met Police decision to impose conditions on this Saturday's 'National March for Palestine'.

It reads as follows:

"This Saturday's National March for Palestine must not take place in the vicinity of the BBC given its proximity to a synagogue and the impact on worshippers.

We support the right to peaceful protest and are not asking for this march to be banned. However, we support the Metropolitan Police in imposing conditions to protect those who are attending Central London Synagogues.

Other routes and days are available. This march must not be allowed in the vicinity of a synagogue at any time on Saturday."

On this day we remember the two people killed in the terrorist attack in Fishmonger’s Hall on London Bridge, 2019. Armed with two knives and wearing a fake suicide vest, the attacker fatally stabbed two people and wounded three others before being shot dead by police.
