Carney should nationalize all of amazon's operations in Canada. Give it to Canada Post.

Who is we in your statement? Plenty of us were reserved in hitching to the American wagon. We've kept our banking system protected amongst other systems which is a big reason we weathered 2008 a lot better than most.

An apt name, look to Iraq and see the worst future for Canada. So much work has been done by Iraq to recover in spite of American arrogance and greed.

Coy answer from a man living in a state that has a lot to answer for. Your oligarchs have been inciting my countrymen to treason, poisoning our institutions, and normalizing authoritarianism and colonialism at a time when we should be doing reconciliation. You Statelings are bad neighbours.

If you think we Canadians should trust the Democrats to do the right thing then you're functionally illiterate on the subject of the bilateral trade between our two countries. Y'all been treating us like a natural resource piggybank for far too long.

My word, this was a great set of lunch break reads. There is no phsycedilidc with reality distortion powers as strong as motornormativity.

Don’t say things that are patently false then. Your perspective was a super baseless claim that was easily verified with a google search. Write a journal, research and read, you know, stuff that academia should have trained you to do.

Maybe Edmonton can get a Strathcona line and a Metro line expansion at a deep discount?

Edmonton adopted a harsh policy of removing encampments a few years ago, while Calgary did not. A study of the first year following that shift found a five-fold increase in emergency amputations in Edmonton over previous years with no change in Calgary's rate.

Heyo, if you haven’t heard there is a PIA rally at Beverly Heights today against our nonsense referendum at 6:30. I’ll be biking there departing from the Garneau Lamp at around 5:20.

My ride was uneventful, the university bike bus didn’t have any takers this morning so I took the backroads and shared use paths. They could be as good as 83rd with the right fixes though will never be as fast or direct.

I’ve swapped out of the google drive/docs space for libre office. Run the chromebook VM to make it work on my book. Maybe I’ll jailbreak it later. But for now the big reason I left is that I was tired of that stupid popup gemini getting in the way of footnotes.

Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 28/08/2026
Fairly hyped about the improvements to 83rd, anyone living near Boonie Doon who bikes has words about that stupid spot.

Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Also, why on earth are you so emotional about slightly larger houses being built in the core? I don't get it.
000
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Lmao. Nobody is building tenplexes on RS. Also, I did enumeration this summer, nearly every infill I've knocked on in the Strathcona area is families or young adults my age or ten years older. You're wildly ignorant.
000
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Also, self-serving? It is in our mutual interest to have more housing within the core. Edmonton's net financial position is baaad. We can't afford the infrastructure we've built and sprawl will keep taxes on the rise unless we build a denser city.
100
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Seriously, high density? When I ran the municipal census back in 2019 there was a really early on sixplex in my area. High school me took a solid 3 minutes to realise it wasn't an ordinary newbuild with a single family. You'll have to do better than calling it disgusting for me to see your pov.

Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Those are a lot of words to say "I don't know why ENU hired a biochem grad student to run a regression". But seriously, if you can find any proof that Dawang has in any way profited from infill be my guest to share. You can't? That's because Dallas Moravec is the one profiting off this.
000
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Now on the other hand, the increase to property value from upzoning due to the increase in land value, actually causes infill to increase property values within areas of high demand. Again, ENU had to use the inapplicable clustering technique in order to isolate out land value.

Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
So just to be clear, ENU's regression has causation backwards, Infills are generally clustered towards the least valuable parts of neighbourhoods in terms of property value. So when you run a regression centred around infill, regardless of build form, you get the same result.
000
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
Prove it.
000
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 25/08/2026
From a property value perspective, they're literally the same.
100
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
Histrionic. ZBR is not zoning abolition. You really want to end land speculation, you need a combination of LVT and ZA. Also, a person in Belgravia or Crestwood isn't going to stop gardening because of ZBR. That also wasn't informing sales prices to begin with.

I want to wish you a speedy recovery Dr. Holt! Sorry to politicize your injuries but if you have the time speaking to city council on the 26th is incredibly important for the protection of what we already have. I think your voice would be incredibly important to have.

Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
It's really important to stress this, because ENU's entire claim is that infill destroys local value and makes housing more expensive, which is exactly the opposite of reality.
000
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
Well, that's exactly why we need to abolish zoning innit?
100
Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
Following up on this, ENU's claim that infill has a direct effect on adjacent or nearby properties is bunk. The study they brought up failed to understand that neighbourhoods are not homogenous blobs. If new strawberry boxes were built in the place of infills their results would have been the same

Careful. You will provoke meta analyses of the same bad observational studies from hospitals.

The vast majority of injuries are not and never will be prevented or mitigated by helmets. Nothing short of protected infrastructure will mitigate daily risks of cyclists.

Cameron Peters @cspeters42.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
Buddy, when I was hit by a car at the age of 13 I was wearing a helmet. When I went spinning over my bike there were dozens of ways I could have died due to a snapped neck. I got lucky. This obsession with the core of the survivability onion rather than the outer layers is just propaganda.

So why use a photo that isn't clearly vandalism for the piece I was irked with? The fact of the matter remains there aren't more than 15 traitor lawn signs in a 5 km radius of my home. These clowns are on the fringe and it is stupid to waste political energy on them.

In fact, I would say that the designs I experienced in Uppsala, Sweden, Stockholm or Oslo weren't actually insanely better. But drivers were way more patient, safer, and respectful and most cycling infrastructure was designed as if a drunk international student was using it. (They were)
