Visited a friend who has a Railway Series themed layout based on Thomas’ branchline terminus, Ffarquhar. There’s still some bits that are a work in progress, but it’s a lot of fun to run!

For the first time these past two weekends, I volunteered for an annual “Day Out With Thomas” event at SAM Shortline. 😊🚂 It’s been exhausting, but fun! 🎉

I posed with Thomas before the crowds arrived. Of course, I had to put a quote on my badge! 😉

A look at Thomas with his train. One of the Heart of Georgia (HOG) Railroad diesels is on the other end to help with pulling and pushing the train.

Families bring their kids up to take pictures with Sir Topham Hatt, the Controller of the Railway.

The Middle Georgia Model Railroad Club had a few small layouts set up in the gift shop tent for people to enjoy after the train ride.

New Hope & Ivyland 2-8-0 #40 (Built by Baldwin in December 1925 - 100 Years Old This Year!) stands with her train at the iconic “Witch Hat” station at New Hope, PA.

#40 on the run-around siding at Lahaska, PA.

Woodstown Central #9, a former U.S. Army 0-6-0 (Built by ALCO in 1942), sits at South Woodstown station with her train.

Lots of things going on now that I’m in Georgia! Below is a thread of images from my most recent travels! Sights include: -Southeastern Railway Museum -Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad -North Georgia Live Steamers

A classic line marks the side of Atlantic Coast Line business car #307 at the Southeastern Railway Museum. The car is painted in the colors of the short-lived New Georgia Railroad.

GE 50-ton switcher #3 and SW7 #8202 sit outside of the Southeastern Railway Museum’s display areas. Both engines are used for short train rides around the property.

Savannah & Atlanta 4-6-2 #750 (built by ALCO in 1910) is a star attraction of the museum, after enjoying a long career in regular passenger service and as part of the Southern Railway steam program.

A Miniature Train Company G-16 circles part of the museum grounds. This train (and a sister set) used to work at the Birmingham Zoo before coming to the museum.

I don’t post photos of myself very much, but here’s a look at me volunteering at the South Carolina Railroad Museum this past weekend. 😊🚂

Giving the traditional call of “Y’ALL ABOARD!” as we board passengers for one of the Blue Granite Express trips.

During the ride, I relay the history of the railroad and local area to the passengers.

While waiting for the passengers of our BBQ Dinner Train to finish eating at Rion Quarry, I take some time to “talk shop” with Robert - another dedicated volunteer.
