Today I give you camouflage cat and cuddle cat. I almost sat on camo cat later that same day.
Black Cat (an orange and black tortoishell cat) is lounging on a chair that is covered by a brown and orangeish blanket. You can't tell it but the pattern on the blanket is a cheetah or leopard - some kind of spotted cat. Black cat is looking upward which helps distinguish her from the background. She certainly has a way of blending in to her surroundings!Orange Cat (a stripey orange cat) is laying on a cushion, almost dangling off the edge of the couch since that is all the space available to her to lay beside my mom (whose hand is on Orange Cat's chest, giving her a little scritch).

Sun is shining in from a window that is outside the frame and it makes the contrast of mom's red robe and orange cat stand out.

Orange cat always wants to squeeze in on that spot by mom if at all possible.

Here is Black Cat with her chonky belly up to the air, 'hugging' the cat toy that she will either continue to just hug for a while before abandoning this lounging post by the stairs or start to viciously assault from this same belly up pose.
Black Cat (a chonky black and orange tortoiseshell cat) is laying with her belly up - revealing an orange patch that she actually really loves to have scritched (it is not just a trap!). Between her front paws she has a cat toy with vaguely mouse like dimensions.

Orange Cat (sometimes lovingly called Dingus) who is usually either in motion or sitting in a way that allows her to stick her arse in your face, is here depicted in a rare moment of scritch reception without buttfaceitis happening.
Orange Cat (orange stripey cat with some white on her face) is laying on her side with one paw resting on my arm while my hand is under the side of her head/neck. Her eyes are mostly closed and she looks relaxed.

BUT that one resting paw can and will easily become a paw full o claws if the scritching isn't just right, or is just too good.Orange Cat (orange stripey cat with some white on her face) is laying on her side with one paw resting on my arm while my hand is under the side of her head/neck. In this one her head is back like 'ahhh yeah that's the spot'. There is a sense of tension in the paw that suggests perhaps claws are gripping just ever so slightly.Orange Cat (orange stripey cat with some white on her face) is laying on her side with one paw resting on my arm while my hand is under the side of her head/neck. This one she is looking right at me and her paw is flexed out, a hint of claw just visible but not digging in.

The look on her face suggests that I am perhaps not doing the scritching quite right in this moment.Orange Cat (orange stripey cat with some white on her face) is laying on her side with one paw resting on my arm while my hand is under the side of her head/neck.

In this one she is looking at me again - this time the look is fairly clearly one of demand, that the scritching improve or else. She's now extended her paw ensuring all claws are on display so I know what is coming if her demands for proper scritching are not met with immediacy.

Black Cat (or Chonk-op-o-popolis, or Chongo Bongo) has a thing about her back leg. Dangling off, or touching/resting on something. #Caturday
Black Cat (a black and orange tortoiseshell cat) is sitting in what would be close to a loaf position except she is tipped slightly and her one back leg is stuck out to rest on my arm.

What isn't clear in the picture is that she is downright filthy - sometimes she gets to go out into the enclosed side yard with Mom for a few minutes. While there she proceeds to roll in every spot that is covered with grit, twigs, and bits of leaves. Black Cat (a black and orange tortoiseshell cat) is laying on the back cushion of a loveseat. A window is in the background. In the foreground is one dangling little leg, some pink toebeans are just visible on this mostly orange back foot.

She loves sitting in this spot by the window. When my parents moved in (their cats moved in before they did) the furniture re-arrangement was all done with the primary need of keeping the love seat in front of this window.

#Caturday - Black Cat took over the chair, which is usually Orange Cat's domain.
Black Cat (a black and orange tortoiseshell cat) is laying on a black gaming chair with red trim. Her face is peeking out past the post for the arm of the chair.Orange Cat (an orange stripey cat) appears to be making her descent from the top of the head rest of the black-with-red-trim gaming chair.Orange Cat (an orange stripey cat) is standing on the top of the black-with-red-trim gaming chair headrest. Her head is level with her feet. It is cut off but her rear end is up in the air.Orange Cat (an orange stripey cat) is 'embracing' the headrest of the black-with-red-trim gaming chair's head rest. Embracing involves a not insignificant use of claws. Her back feet are on the shoulder of the chair and she has a mischievous look on her face.

If you see this, and want to do so, quote with flowers from your gallery.
An enormous brilliant pink lily in full bloom with another to its left and several buds waiting their turn to open up and be incredibly spectacular. From Wellington New Zealand.

In the Coromandel - but I don't remember exactly where. If you see this, and you want to do so, quote with a bridge from your gallery.
A footbridge with a big concrete piling under part of it, wire cords/cables above, a rough wood or metal deck wood and metal rails. On the other side is some really gorgeous lush greenery with a wide blend of trees and a few spots of red flowers to the right.

The flop in action (or inaction)
Black Cat (an orange and black tortoiseshell) is flumped out with her belly in the air. For some cats that would be a trap. For her it is an invitation bordering on a demand which you'll hear if you get even remotely close.

There is an orange 'fish' cat toy in the bottom left of the image and it and it's siblings are a favorite for Orange Cat who carries them around the house howling.

I just realized I posted #Caturday pictures on a Friday (because I was lucky enough to have the day off). So here is another couple in the same theme as above except reversed - these are the rare ones.
Black Cat (an orange and black tortoiseshell) is fighting a cat toy. She has both back feet up - one orange and one black with toe beans on display - and both front paws grasping it. The toy has dangly string legs with beads on the ends. She is surrounded by the remains of the nip that stimulated this little fight time.Orange Cat (an orange stripey cat) is snoozing on a small blue, white, and orange fleece throw on the couch. The angle of the picture makes her look much bigger than she is (she is a bit of a scrawny thing in reality). But it is weird, with the picture I can almost see her gently breathing as she naps.

This #Caturday I'm just going to note that many of my Orange Cat pictures are like this one and almost all my Black Cat pictures are like this.
Black Cat (a tortoiseshell orange and black cat) is sleeping on a couch with her head rested against the back of the couch but the angle the picture was taken makes it look like she is laying on her head with her body up the back of the couch.

The key being that she is snoozing. She is pretty much always snoozing or snacking.Orange Cat (an orange stripey cat with a bit of white on her face) is standing on the shoulder of a black and red gaming chair with her claws dug in on the head rest portion and her butt up in the air.

Her face looks like she is contemplating which of the climbing, clawing, perching options she should embark on next. The chair shows signs of the many, many, many climbing and clawing uses she puts it to.

I need to have something fascinating to read next, to learn, to watch. Suggestions welcome. Orange Cat's recommendation: intriguing scents in Mom's jacket.
Orange Cat (unsurprisingly an orange cat with a stripey white tipped tail) is up on her back legs, front feet on the edge of a futon that is buried in jackets and sweaters. Her head is firmly ensconced inside a black jacket where apparently there is some fascinating smell to investigate.

I have no actual answer to this but it reminded me of a double exposure picture from my much younger days (me and my sister at the front door of our very 'of the era' house). Always get a kick out of this picture.
A double exposure photo that shows an orange house front door (also orange with brown trim) - what can I say it was the 70s. Concrete stairs are in front of the door. On the left side you can see the first exposure, a blonde girl with a pink shirt and red pants holding the door knob. On the right the door is shown slightly tilted, a brunette girl in shorts and a t-shirt (me) is apparently getting ready to race down the stairs as she is sort of in the race ready position, one knee up, other leg back with knee on the ground.

I remember watching Lawrence Welk LOL. Thankfully since I've been kidnapped and TV characters are coming to save me it is good I last watched Death in Paradise - hopefully they will solve it even though it isn't Death or Paradise (Saskatchewan winter)
Humphrey and Camille from Death in Paradise. Camille has a notepad and pen in hand, Humphrey a green napkin (probably) and pen. Both are looking with concern at something - presumably a corpse with greenery and tropical trees in the background.

If only I could snooze so easily!

Suspect I'll be this one fairly often and my pinned post the rest of the time bsky.app/profile/crys....
Tortoiseshell cat looks like she is laying in a headstand sort of pose because of the angle of the picture. She is actually laying on the couch cushion with her head against the back but my camera was at an odd angle when taking it and it makes me laugh this way so I don't rotate the picture.

I think this is the first time I've been sick since Covid started. Cross your fingers for me that it is just a cold. I wish I could convince my parents to mask when they go out in public especially now that they live with me. But since I probably can't here's one of their cats.
Orange Cat (orange stripey cat with white around her mouth and nose) is on her favourite scratching chair - the old black and red gaming chair. She has just finished giving it a good scratch and attempted to lay down but one claw is still caught so it is up the back of the chair. She is looking at the camera with her mouth partially open and with a look that says additional chair clawing might be forthcoming.

Okay this picture cracked me up. Not sure how I ended up with it being turned this way. So please enjoy this cat apparently sleeping in a headstand, also some free toe beans included. #Caturday
Technically this is a picture of Black Cat (an orange and black tortoiseshell cat) laying on a couch with her head resting against the couch back cushion but I must have had the phone turned at an odd angle because it looks like she is sleeping with her head rested on the seat of the couch and her body going up the back of the couch.

Plus as mentioned in the post there are some pink toe beans showing on her mostly orange back foot.

A sweet little lump for your morning tea.
Black Cat (orange and black tortoiseshell cat) is in mostly loaf mode on the arm of a couch with her head turned toward the camera. Her little patch of orange over her left eye makes me happy this morning for some reason (not that this picture was taken this morning since mornings are DARK right now and this picture shows the sunroom in the background and it is brightly lit from outside)

A morning too tired for stories A cat whose claws are her glories
Orange Cat is on a gaming chair that is black with red trim. She is on the seat for a change instead of on the arm or on the head rest, she has her claws firmly dug into the back of the chair.

If you saw a close up of the chair you'd know this is a frequent occupation.

Also there is curling on the tv in the background.

Does anyone else play Murdle? If so, do you sometimes just want to get it wrong when the murderer is fighting for the revolution? Not like Black Cat here, she is murdering that toy because of the nip! #Caturday and #Murdle
Black Cat (a orange and black tortoiseshell cat) has a cat toy with a beige body and string legs that are tied at the end with beads. The toy is grasped between her front paws as she lays on her side with her generous belly exposed to the air. Her mouth is slightly open, as if ready to render a serious bite to the toy except that maybe her attention has temporarily been caught by something up higher.

My housecoat catches on this bag sometimes when I walk past it, wonder what might be going on. (technically it only catches when the bag is empty, then I think of getting rid of it, but then I think of the below and leave it there)
A paper bag is laying on its side on the floor and Orange Cat (an orange stripey cat with a mostly white nose and mouth area) is just peeking out of it. She likes to hide out in there on occasion. A more 'attack cat' type cat might consider pouncing out when the owner of the toes, just visible on the left side of the image, come into range. But she isn't a big attacker so she just watched the toes and associated leg and other body parts walk by from the safety of her hideout.

And a good night from a rolly poly girl.
Black Cat (a black and orange tortoiseshell cat) is laying on a grey rug with her belly up to the air. Evidence of a recent nip fest is on the floor nearby, but it doesn't require a nip fest for her to be belly up - it is one of her favourite poses.

Headachy morning so here is a cat (who is sometimes a headache inducer)
Orange stripey cat hanging out on the top of a desk chair/gaming chair. One back foot is up on the head rest while the other three are on the 'shoulder' of the chair. Shoveling just a small path to the gate and a little area to clear access to the garbage, recycle, and compost bins was all my back could handle. But huge love out to whoever it was running their snow blower down the main sidewalk.
A fenced yard with a gate, all covered in a deep layer of snow. Too much snow for this poster to deal with!A really rather terribly framed picture of a snow covered yard. At the left side of the image you can see the edge of a garbage bin with snow up a good quarter of the way up its side. It is hard to tell it but the snow is decently deep, not east coast snow storm deep but deep for the prairies and also hard to tell from the picture but the snow is still falling, lightly, but still adding to the pile.

To celebrate the spate of writing submission rejections I've had this week (I try hard to remember I can't get rejections if I don't submit so it means I'm sending stuff out). Here's Black Cat, post nip, 'accepting' the heck out of a toy then accepting the world's potential for belly rubs. #Caturday
Slightly blurry shot of a tortoise shell cat, on a still nip strewn black floor. She has a beige and green toy, with bead ended string 'legs', caught in her front paws and back feet holding it in place for the fierce biting she seems to be about to give it.Same tortoise shell cat from the previous picture, now she is sprawled out on a grey rug, remnants of the nip fest can be seen on the floor around her along with some scratching tree and possible toy stuffing remnants. Her belly is up to the air with her mostly orange back foot sticking up. There is something about the gleam in her eye that might make someone who doesn't know Black Cat think that this is a trap, that belly rubs would result in claws, but even in post nip wild times Black Cat loves her some belly rubs.

Okay same pose for Black Cat, different couch. Orange cat snoozing and me taking a picture at a weird angle that makes that skinny thing look bulkier than she is.
Tortoiseshell cat, sleeping on a dark grey couch (loveseat actually but you can't tell from the picture). Her mostly orange back leg is up on the back cushion of the seat and her orange belly spot is showing.

She really loves this pose (at least when she isn't sleeping on Dad's lap in the recliner).Orange stripey cat conked out on a blue and orange plaid blanket on a dark grey couch. She's sound asleep. The angle of the picture makes her appear to be a cat with generous proportions - in reality she is a skinny little thing that I try to get to eat more.

Finally transferred some pictures between devices. Will try not in inundate you all with cat pictures - will spread them out across a few days. Here is Black cat lounging and Orange Cat coaxed by a scritchy hand into briefly laying on my side.
A tortoiseshell cat showing off her belly as she lays on a purple couch with one back leg (with an orange foot) resting up on the back cushion.

This lounging pose is one of her favorites. If you walk into her vicinity while she is in it she will give you a funny demand for a scritch. If you are sitting near her she will revel in you giving her a never ending belly scratch.Orange cat (stripey with a little white chin) sitting on a purple housecoat that looks dull in comparison to her orange fur.

A hand is petting her head as she looks sideways. She is clearly not interested in the TV in the background that shows Ohtani during one of the playoff or world series games. She is however very interested in the neck scratch continuing.

This is a rare-ish occurrence for Orange Cat to sit on top of someone, so the neck scratch continued for a good long time.

Not to leave Black Cat out - here she is, not currently being a lap cat, lounging about on the back of the couch where she gets to peer out the window when she isn't posing for Cat Lounging Quarterly.
Black Cat - a mostly black tortoiseshell cat is lounging and looking like she may just be the queen of the world on the back of a couch with one front leg and paw resting on the white windowsill.

It is dark outside but you can just tell the window is open (thankfully in the dark you can't tell how much stuff is stuck to the window screen).

Poor Black Cat doesn't know it yet but her 2024 days of looking out the open window are numbered as fall closes in. But we'll make sure she gets at least a couple more before the long hiatus until Spring 2025 window opening time.

OMG - Orange Cat has never sat on my lap before. She almost never purrs (or at least not loud enough to hear). Here she is on my lap and she was even purring audibly (quiet but I could hear it). Forgive the terrible picture quality, I am not a skilled one hand picture taker.
An orange cat leans their head into a hand while sitting on the person's (my!) lap which is clad in purple and blue plaid pj pants. Her butt is just slightly raised, leaned into my belly because she loves sticking her arse in the air.

There is light from a computer screen causing some light 'spots' in the image.Another picture of Orange Cat, still on my lap but this time facing me with a funny little almost contented look on her face.

It has been a little while since the other picture and the laptop screen has gone off so it is a little darker and I was trapped. Look, I love cats, but a cat who is a lap sitter will get shooed off if I need to get up. But with her literally never having sat on my lap before I wasn't willing to do any shooing!

Orange Cat is likewise impossible to locate.
A mostly black tortoiseshell cat sits in the foreground. In the background just the back leg and tail of an orange cat stick out from behind a curtain (while laying on the back cushion of a purple couch).

It is possible the sun has located Orange Cat since there is a little puddle of sunlight around her.

Crystal T (she/her) @crystalizing.bsky.social · 24/08/2024
The sun room rearrangement is not bad, the cats may disagree. BUT the living room is also undergoing a new arrangement (new recliner and couch in prep for my parents moving in). They might end up losing their other favorite window seat. It is the only time they are okay with each other in proximity.
Black Cat (a mostly black tortoiseshell cat) is flumped out on the back of a loveseat cushion with one paw resting on the window sill - looking out and almost certainly dreaming of dinner (she has adjusted quite well to being an indoor cat).
Orange Cat is hunched in loaf form on the windowsill facing Black Cat's direction. Her face is a little less than pleased. She would be out that window in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the screen).
Rarely does a fight break out when the two are together here.

I don't know what Orange Cat and Black Cat are going to do. The couch has been turned so this prime cat real estate has moved to a spot where there is no curtain cave to enclose it. #Caturday
Black Cat is lounging on the top of a purple couch cushion where you can only see one back leg sticking out from behind a curtain and the end of the white tipped black tail is curled under it.

A hint of a sun spot peeks out from under the curtain as well.

This is location, location, location but now the cruel landowner has moved things and this fine flumping spot is no more. Whatever shall a cat do.Black Cat (a tortoishell) is loafed out on the cushion tucked between the curtain and the window.

This will be the last time she will be found in this cozy spot as furniture moving has had to happen.Black Cat, a tortoiseshell, is in the foreground lounging on the chaise portion of a couch. In the background and orange striped cat's (Orange Cat) back leg, highlighted with sunshine, and tail dangles down. The rest of Orange Cat is obscured by a curtain.

Again, location, location, location. But this window spot that is no more was always only single occupancy. Even if these two cuddled instead of brawling they'd have a hard time both fitting in this primo napping locale.Orange cat laying on the back of the purple couch tucked between the curtain and the window. Sun highlights her midsection leaving her head mostly in the shadow. Guess she doesn't want her brain to warm up too much.

#Caturday calls for cats being cats. Black Cat enjoying a little sit, but where could Orange Cat be. Later... Orange Cat, right here, right here, I'm right here!
A mostly black tortoiseshell cat (called Black Cat) looks up at the camera from her spot lounging on the chaise part of a couch. The chaise section has a green and white sheet over it but the rest of the couch is purple. Black cat absolutely loves this spot she can frequently be found hanging out right here.

On the back of the chaise section of the couch an orange striped cat's back leg and tail are sticking out from behind a curtain where a sunspot is highlighting things.

Orange Cat usually is curled up in a tight little ball in that spot and so this was one of the rare occasions where I didn't have to sneak a peek behind the curtain to see if she was there. An orange striped cat with a white chin is standing on the relatively small back of a computer chair (chair is black with a piping of red). To the left a portion of a person's face (me) is visible. A little bit of dark hair is visible and a dark brown eye that looks more startled than it was (Orange Cat frequently makes the trek to the back of the chair).

If Orange Cat's tail was just a little higher you'd be able to see Black Cat (a mostly black tortoiseshell cat) lounging on a bit overstuffed recliner in the background - another of Black Cat's favoured lounging spots.

#Caturday and Orange Cat is making her presence known. Wherever might Black Cat be though?
An orange stripey cat with white around the mouth, chin, and neck as well as a little swipe of white up the nose and between the eyes looks at the camera from her perch on the desk.

Sadly the camera hasn't captured her mid plaintive cry for attention, or up on the back of the chair.A purple couch cushion is topped by a foot of a calico cat and just beneath it you can see a tail with a little white tip. There is a little glimmer of sunlight. The rest of the cat is laying on top of the cushion obscured by a curtain that is dark grey and sort of silvery with a bunch of squares on it.

This sunspot and hideout combination is perfect for getting away from it all even if all of a cat doesn't quite fit.Calico cat, on top of a purple couch back cushion, between a white trimmed window and a dark coloured curtain, looks up at the camera.

The expression is unenthusiastic and seems to question the picture taker's humanity, certainly a humane person would not disturb a cat's repose when they clearly seek to be hidden!

Okay, maybe I'll just do this thing. Hang on, yeah, I think this is the thing here. Right. Yeah. I think this might be the way I can help. #Caturday
An orange stripey cat with a bit of white on its face is standing with its back legs on part of the back of a computer chair with it's front on the headrest part of the chair behind the head of the person sitting in the chair. That person is me. The top half of my face is showing I have dark hair and one eyebrow that is more pointy than the other and dark brown eyes.

Above the cat's head the ceiling light provides a halo to show the obvious innocence and purity of the cat in question. Surely it is just doing some kind of angelic good deed being up there!

What? I'm just sitting here? Totally normal to sit here on the arm of the chair. Wasn't doing nothing involving claws just a second ago. Just sitting here, getting ready in case you need any help with typing and stuff. #Caturday
An orange stripey cat with white on its face has a somewhat guilty look on its face as it looks at the camera. It is sitting on the arm of a desk chair.

The cat's face says there is no way, absolutely no possible way in this world that it was doing anything like clawing up the back of the chair just moments before. It is equally impossible, the cat's expression says, that it had moments before been sitting on the even smaller back of the chair.

Orange cat would give singing lessons so everyone could loudly bellow out the song of their people all night long.
An orange stripey cat in 'loaf' pose at the top of a set of stairs.

She's looking at the camera with an innocent expression to hide the whirling rabbit inside her brain that will need to be released vocally any minute now.
