Oh just FYI I forgot to put it here but I closed my Shopify store. So if you want anything of mine either go on XMA or Kofi

The fact Yoshi-P had to weigh in on mods is so crazy like I am begging people to please just shut up about modding now. I don't want another hour and a half of the Live Letter taken up by modding again.

in the aftermath here, people will be looking for alternatives. I strongly urge everyone to avoid "LoporritSync", which is a functioning alternate server for Mare hosted primarily by and for people banned from the central server due to explicit mods involving children

My love for xiv is just not there and I honestly don’t want to pretend it is lmfao.

010

Crystia ✨ @cryscorner.etheirys.social · 21/08/2025

On another real note. I really only come on here when I hear about big shit like mare. If you want to hear me talk about other things more often (mostly me going back to drawing actually) you can find me on @crystias.bsky.social

Crystia ✨ @cryscorner.etheirys.social · 21/08/2025

Y’all will find a way through this (drawings, sharing ttmp2s etc). Share your feelings about expanding character creation in the forums etc. And if we want to keep other mods around I would advise to stop talking about mods in game.

anyways for all you ThIs iS GoOnEr 9/11 bitches on the other side, you should probably know that people you don't like aren't going to see your posts but your trans/nonbinary friends whose characters can't outwardly reflect who they are in an affirming way will and maybe you should sit this one out

Crystia ✨ @cryscorner.etheirys.social · 21/08/2025

Seeing Mare go is kinda crazy seeing as this is going to affect a lot of people who use cosmetic mods to reflect their character in more diverse ways. Really unfortunate, but sadly not surprising.

Taps the sign. This goes for your online communities too.

I was at a shitty crustpunk bar once getting an after-work beer. One of those shitholes where the bartenders clearly hate you. So the bartender and I were ignoring one another when someone sits next to me and he immediately says, "no. get out."

And the dude next to me says, "hey i'm not doing anything, i'm a paying customer." and the bartender reaches under the counter for a bat or something and says, "out. now." and the dude leaves, kind of yelling. And he was dressed in a punk uniform, I noticed

Anyway, I asked what that was about and the bartender was like, "you didn't see his vest but it was all nazi shit. Iron crosses and stuff. You get to recognize them."

And i was like, ohok and he continues.

"you have to nip it in the bud immediately. These guys come in and it's always a nice, polite one. And you serve them because you don't want to cause a scene. And then they become a regular and after awhile they bring a friend. And that dude is cool too.

And then THEY bring friends and the friends bring friends and they stop being cool and then you realize, oh shit, this is a Nazi bar now. And it's too late because they're entrenched and if you try to kick them out, they cause a PROBLEM. So you have to shut them down.

And i was like, 'oh damn.' and he said "yeah, you have to ignore their reasonable arguments because their end goal is to be terrible, awful people."

And then he went back to ignoring me. But I haven't forgotten that at all.

PSA for anyone else losing their mind about all the crafting noise in space currently: I've been playing this stupid video game for almost 10 years and I JUST LEARNED you can turn the volume down for other players effects. System Config --> Sound Settings --> scroll down to Player Effects Volume :)
