It's just funny to me that Zelda is like "we cut a dungeon, have a free medallion" "we cut a dungeon, have a free Nayru's Pearl" lol

Like OoT famously had a lot of iterations and changes in dev, so in the final game you're just given the Light Medallion for free. OoT still feels mostly complete, but the reason people kept inventing Light Temple rumors is because on some level you know something was cut.

I think the thing about Zelda is when there's something that was half-baked or unimplemented, it really sticks out because you just get handed something random or are forced to do something narratively strange, but it's also usually not a pervasive issue throughout the whole game.

But the Triforce quest you can definitely see the "uhhh we meant to have some more dungeons here but oops" part of it. And just narratively it's very odd to just find parts of the Triforce in random chests under the sea. (Or, even before that, getting the orb from Jabun)

I can see some stuff. The sailing I actually like, because each square of the world map has something to find, so it felt fun checking off every square. iirc Prime 4 doesn't really have that, at least anything of substance. I don't know if MP4 could do "mini-dungeons" in the same way.

Probably burned my remaining bridges in the business, but I recently put out a statement regarding the increasing use of “generative AI” in British indie wrestling.

I’ve seen more and more promotions and wrestlers using generative AI, some of whom I work with, and I want to make something VERY clear:

I do not give anybody permission to use my likeness in any AI-generated posters, promos, clips, etcetera, and I consider any such use to be a personal and professional violation.

Do not feed me to a tech company’s algorithm. They’ve stolen enough of my writing and video material for their “AI training” already. That’s how Alleged Intelligence works, by the way - it’s a plagiarism tool, regurgitating every shred of “content” fed to it.

Leaving aside the horrific impact AI data centers have on the environment, you’re not creating anything by typing prompts into a box. Why should anyone be impressed with some cool photoshoot, promo, or move when you didn’t really do it? At best, Alleged Intelligence is self-insert reality fanfic and it makes wrestling truly live up to its reputation as fake.

I won’t try to sway you away from it, but I hope you reconsider and really look into AI. Whatever you do, leave me out of it.

The actual technique of launching yourself isn't much harder, but personally I don't get nearly as much height off of that, which is making the wall jump more difficult. Like I kinda graze the corner of the other wall. So I don't know if I'm just not doing a good enough job on some aspect.

I'm having trouble doing it but I'm playing the Switch 2 version where I guess it's harder and you have to use alternate tech to get started. I can cling to the wall but can't quite make the jump to the other side.

The problem with using “good game design” to back up your personal taste is that it tends to rely on the idea that good game design is somehow singular, which is more wrong than I can fit on the screen.
