i hate it here :( #art #comic #TaxRaptor #noAI

A six-panel comic starring TaxRaptor, a cartoon austroraptor.
Panel 1: TaxRaptor happily holds her purse and car keys, saying "I love going out in my local area and avoiding psychic damage from the internet."
Panel 2: TaxRaptor is driving and behind a vehicle with AI slop stickers on the back.
Panel 3: TaxRaptor is seated at a booth in a local diner with AI slop "artwork" on the walls.
Panel 4: TaxRaptor is walking down the street and passes by a family of hadrosaurs wearing AI slop shirts.
Panel 5: TaxRaptor sees a pachyrhinosaurus selling at a booth, saying "Thank you for supporting local makers!" The products next to them are AI slop on cheap plastic products.
Panel 6: TaxRaptor looks exhausted and horrified, her HP bar is showing red health.

found a whole operation of unmanned youtube channels making completely unchecked long form slop videos where the ai voice simulacra regularly trips up & does this for a full ten minutes every time. all the very legit comments are like "NO! THATS NOT TRUE! YOU LIE HE DID NOT" & never acknowledge it.

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Some thoughts:
When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge.
You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be.
Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history.
You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired.
Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.

Important shit that I’m still trying to learn.

I am begging you. Please learn about stress/discomfort tolerance. Practice raising it. You need this to survive. If someone online can ruin your day with a throwaway comment, you desperately need to understand discomfort tolerance and consciously, systematically build that shit.
Also! Stress tolerance is such an important skill that having a learning disability in that area is a major symptom of a whole lot of other disabilities/mental illnesses! Struggling with it is a huge part of life! It sucks!
Am I saying everyone with misophonia needs to listen to chewing noises all day? No. But you need to find ways to tolerate it enough that you don't treat others like shit if they make a mouth noise near you.
No, you don't have to read the fic with your trigger tags.
But you do need to be able to handle scrolling past the tags without being upset.
It is hard! But not having it also makes you so so so easy to manipulate. That grandma is racist AF because her mom raised her to be uncomfortable around black people and she never fought that discomfort. Trans people make so many cis people uncomfortable and that discomfort turns into bigotry real fast.
Letting your discomfort dictate your actions and beliefs about things is a great way to become a terrible person.
Learn. Discomfort. Tolerance.
