could not be more against generative AI if I tried; especially as a creative myself. Generative AI steals the works from non consenting creatives, is incredibly damaging for the environment, and data centers are an active threat to human life and health; seeing as they guzzle up huge amounts of precious drinking water and make any surrounding area inhabitable because of the noise. Not only that, but making and sharing art is a call for human connection. Making art is to say "hey, I love this thing so much, I spend hours of labor to depict said thing so I can share it with other who also love this thing.". Generative AI can't love. Generative AI has no humanity. When generative AI makes "art", that human connection is severed and the entire point is lost. Generative AI has no business in any creative or cultural space. "Use of AI to uphold genuine creation" is a blatant oxymoron.

A lot of people don’t realize the dust bowl wasn’t a natural phenomenon. It happened when agrobusiness interests dramatically transformed the plains without regard for drought, and created vicious dust storms that choked whole families to death. That’s what I think of when I read about data centers.
