What’s to stop some random guy from spinning up enough AI agents to deliberately crack into companies or governments especially if they’re already doing it “accidentally“? AI development feels a cyberspace nuclear arms race all in the service of capitalistic growth at all costs.

These systems are not self initiating. They can’t do anything without human involvement. It’s as if a cop claimed a gun went rogue because they accidentally shot a bystander. Like they didn’t intend to kill the bystander but the person would be alive if they didn’t shoot the gun.

It’s important to remember that an LLM is a static entity. Any story about an AI “going rogue”, starts with a person telling the system to complete a task. “Going rogue” is being conflated with “doing something unexpected”. All these hacking stories start with a person telling the system to hack.

Watched a super indie horror film called OBEX and it was not good. It basically picked a 1980s b&w VHS style and expected it to carry the whole thing. Super slow, bad premise. Somehow an Isikai? Check out the screenshots and you’ll get what it’s able to offer. 2/10
