If anyone is interested in a day job, hyper-specific crash out, I am currently losing my shit over the Allbirds shoe company rebranding as an AI company because WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE ABANDONING SHOES TO BECOME A GPU-AS-A-SERVICE COMPANY???

Wired headline: Allbirds is pivoting to AI compute. Sure, why not

Once a $4 billion apparel juggernaut, Allbirds will rebrand as NewBird AI, a "GPU-as-a-service" company. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

I have been MIA on bluesky for a while. I will post updates, but for now I just want to lurk and see what vibes are like. This is just proof of life.

Double-especially if it is a kink anthology. Please. 🖤

When you're submitting for an anthology and they ask in the submission form for possible triggers in your story, please use that opportunity to consider what triggers are in your story and share them. Especially if the potential triggers in your story are consent based.

Apologies to anyone who is waiting on Leashed Anthology notifications. My plan is to send out responses this weekend with directions/next steps. I appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay. 🖤

...RIP. I'm basically living that Mitch Hedberg joke, except instead of trying to convince myself that what I thought of isn't funny I'm just generally trying to convince myself that what I outlined isn't good because I have to re-do it, anyway.

Fox @crossedmoss.bsky.social · 17/01/2026

Today I discovered that I have to re-outline 10 stories in The Believer collection because I left the notebook with all the details for them (creature design, general plot, overall vibes, actual stories) in Maine. I'm in VA for the next several months.

On Fluent Haunches feels like a sexy mental breakdown directed by David Lynch. 'I'm the Sinner' by Jared Benjamin would be the theme. (And it's queer!)

Threads post by mrs.brasingtonreads

I made a map of all the states in the US where I have sent On Fluent Haunches, it was more than I thought!

A map of the US with Alabama, Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, and Virginia colored in.

A trope map with bi+ rep, religious guilt, taboo romance (adoptive siblings), troubled protagonist, 90s nostalgia, and mental illness rep on it - The text surrounds the On Fluent Haunches book cover. Additional text reads: Available now!

I have already dreamed up the cooking show and my grandma and great aunt have confirmed if it existed they would watch it. (They are my cooking competition experts.)

000

Fox @crossedmoss.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

Because I am unable to go more than a few weeks without imagining another WIP I am currently working on a cooking competition/celebrity chef romance. It is a rivals to lovers/enemies to lovers type of a thing.

I'll stay out of review spaces, I know those are for readers, but part of me is pleased that I have been putting the book out there enough that it got in front of the wrong person.

000

Fox @crossedmoss.bsky.social · 24/12/2025

What is also exciting is I already have my first 1 star rating. (There is no review - I assume someone's mad about the taboo queer romance? Idk, it's not my business.)

Fox @crossedmoss.bsky.social · 24/12/2025

Someone told me that On Fluent Haunches wasn't on Storygraph so I went to check Goodreads and Fable to make sure it was there. It was! Very exciting.

I only had two damaged copies of all I ordered. This feels like a tiny self-publishing miracle. Before I make these LFL copies, does anyone want them for just the cost of shipping? They'll come signed and with my preorder extras, they just each have a tiny scratch on the cover. $10 or less in USA

I got some really bad news on Friday but I kept moving through the weekend and got some solid chapter writing, outline drafting, and special feature creating done. I will not let the bad things win if it kills me.

She is officially 220 pages in. This means she has now survived: impure thoughts about an adoptive brother, joining the church to pray the gay away, a violent creature transformation, murders, taboo smut, so much gay, a character battling addiction...

My 86-year-old grandma is LOCKED IN on my taboo horror romance. I checked what page she was on and I am happy to report she made it through the 'impure thoughts about the adoptive brother' and 'joining the church to try to pray the gay away' parts, and she is at the first 'there is only one bed.'

My no spice fantasy novelette A Remedy Earned exists. In it I do not abide by the "we are the good guys, so we don't murder war criminals" rule of fantasy writing. (No spoilers, but this is not a story about someone with Batman morality.) Find it almost everywhere ebooks exist!

Is the fmc kind of a hermit? A planchette rests over the word "yes". Vida, the brunette female main character is pictured.

"does the fmc fall for a cursed sword?" A planchette rests over the word "yes". Vida, the brunette female main character is pictured.

"is the mmc wildly supportive?*" A planchette rests over the word "yes". A sword is in place of Vida, the main character. Text appears below the planchette that says * while being a cursed sword

"does the bad guy get what he deserves?" A planchette rests over the word "yes". Vida, the brunette female main character is pictured.

More Kam and Philip from On Fluent Haunches on this meme Monday. In this queer horror romance Kam is the bad boy who's trying to get sober. Philip is the repressed, aspiring pastor who's in love with him. What could go wrong? 🙃 Preorders are live on my site.

Meme: your future self is talking shit about you
Reply: Joke's on him.
I'll fucking ruin his life.

Sketch of Kam - white young man with light hair and full lips

Meme: I flirt by having the eyes of a neglect pet.

Then a sketch of Philip - a dark, curly haired young man with a big nose and a sad expression

On Fluent Haunches cover with tropes around it: happy ending, bad boy + good boy, taboo romance (adoptive siblings), first time, forbidden romance, found family, only one bed.
Out December 15, 2025

Since KDP hates me ("technical difficulties") I'm doing pre-orders on my site of On Fluent Haunches for ebooks and paperbacks. Ebooks are epubs, PDFs and Mobi. Note: paperbacks are cheaper than they will be elsewhere to offset the shipping costs. They will also be signed and come with extras!
