Low quality orange frame from burner today, possibly as a consequence of the work that PSE&G has been doing on the gas lines this morning. SAD! #NewJersey #NaturalGas #PSE&G

Our HSA decided to buy an outdoor classroom kit for my daughter's elementary school and I don't think I like it. Hopefully, the teachers are proactive and thoughtful about using it, but the idea seems aspirational at best. My understanding is that […] [Original post on pixelfed.crimedad.work]

The components to a prefabricated outdoor classroom, unassembled, laying on a blacktop. There are partially milled and shaved log benches, planter boxes, and evergreen saplings with their roots wrapped in burlap sacks. Once it's all set up, it might resemble an outdoor classroom from a real independent outdoor school in Vermont or the Pacific Northwest.

Sad day. Had to say goodbye to my parents' dog, Red. He was a good, gentle boy and we'll miss him very much.

If the squirrels want to get a little bit slutty on my deck, that's fine as long as they stay out of the bird feeder. #squirrels #autumn #sunshine

You probably can't see it well in this photo, but the air is full of dragonflies. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be doing anything about the lantern flies. They've infested the area so badly they're floating in the water. #NewHavenHarbor #WestHaven […] [Original post on pixelfed.crimedad.work]

I found a trove of free solar panels (patch.com/new-jersey/caldwells) and I now have a new project to get them up on the roof of my carport. Wish me luck and respect the wagon! #VW #VWGolf #VAG #DIY #SolarDIY #solar #local #NewJersey

I replaced the O2 sensor this evening with my eight-year-old as an assistant. The damaged O2 sensor was in there pretty tight, so I got to demonstrate how a cheater bar works for her. I also installed a rodent deterrent device. It's kind of gimmicky, but hopefully it works. #DIY #CarRepair #VW #VAG

The open engine bay of a Volkswagen MK7 Golf. A rodent deterrent device is affixed to the hood with zip ties and two wires run across it to reach the battery terminals.

Comparison of the new and old sensors. The old one seems rather sooty, which probably isn't good.
