Happy end of Pride month! I generally don't share nsfw, but this thread will be a rare exception. All content here is from my series, Blind Chaos, ranging from early book 4 to late book 5. First up, we have two SFW pieces by @nozomimats.bsky.social and @evanyell.bsky.social (respectively!) (1/3)
Book 4 (War & Worship)'s cover by Nozomi! The art shows Ranthia (on the left) joining hands and resting her forehead with her lover, Avyna (on the right).

Ranthia is a human with short brown hair and she's dressed in a simple tunic, a blinfold, and metallic bracers.

Avyna is an elf with spiraling horns and pointed ears sticking out of her long blonde hair. She's wearing a blue dress with protective leather.

Both women are kneeling aboard a ship made out of starlight, which is the only real indication that there's magical nonsense in their world. Past the ship a rich night's sky can be seen, with two perfectly ordinary moons directly overhead.Eveninglight by Evanyell. This character art depicts Ranthia (on the right) sitting upright on a chaise, with her lover Avyna (on the left) lounging in her lap. There's a bowl of oil on the furniture's arm, and Avyna's horns are glistening with newly applied oil. Ranthia's fingers are gently rubbing the horns, but both women are a bit distracted with gazing lovingly into one another's eyes.

Ranthia's a human with dark brown hair, wearing a simple tunic and a pair of metal bracers.

Avyna's an elf with long blonde hair, spiraling horns, and pointed ears. She's wearing a blue-and-white dress made of folded layers of cloth held by a cinched belt at her waist.

I'm deeply sorry about this, but I'm not gonna type up all the deets. There's just too much. And most of it is pretty useless.

Been putting this off for too long, but finally setting the same avatar across all platforms! Namely, a close-up of my wonderful author portrait that Pennytail made for me.
A green-eyed mercat with a purple tail and tabby-like upper body floats, surrounded by bubbles. They're wearing a stylish red hat with a large, white feather stuck in it. An identical feather is held like a quill, used to write in a floating book above them.

As you wish! My first three covers (each commissioned from @nozomimats.bsky.social and typeset by Miblart), and my favorite piece of character art so far (Eveninglight, commissioned from @evanyell.bsky.social ). Because commissioning art of my stories is one of the coolest parts of being an author.
Blind Chaos book 1, Budding Rhythm. Featuring art from Nozomi of a young woman wielding two large knives, captured in a moment while she was turning with a laugh-induced smile on her face. She's in a forest at night, and two perfectly ordinary moons are overhead, though one of them is unfortunately a bit cut off.The cover from Blind Chaos book 2, Dancing with Chaos. This time Ranthia has longer hair and is wearing a form-fitting garment with blue and silver, illuminated by a spotlight. She seems to be in the midst of a dance, with other similarly garbed dancers in the background. The stage is decorated with hanging crystals, and there's a painted backdrop invoking a wintery scene. The cover of book 3 of Blind Chaos, The Grace of War. It's dawn and Ranthia's looking a bit rough. Her armor is a damaged and patchworked mess and she's standing on a blood-stained battlefield in a wasteland. A tattered blindfold covers her eyes and there's a military standard painted behind her, which includes a basket where a mirror-polished shield rests. In front of the shield is a perfectly ordinary and not at all alarming crow.Character art by Evanyell depicting Ranthia sitting on a chaise, with another woman lounging in her lap. The other woman has long, pointed ears and curved ram-like horns sticking out of her long blonde hair. Her horns are glistening with oil, sourced from the bowl resting on the chaise's arm, and Ranthia's fingers are gently rubbing her horns. The mood is plainly romantic, communicated through the gazes of both women as they look upon one another.

Via: grids.fun/t/about-me-v... Some of these are kinda just... I couldn't think of anything else for the category? I'm sure the me of another day would move a few things around too, but here's what current me did. Details are in alt text.
Favorite Game: Final Fantasy VI
Best Story: NieR: Automata (narrowly, so narrowly)
Favorite Art Style: Legend of Mana
Biggest Personal Impact: Baldur's Gate II
Best Combat: Armored Core: For Answer
Overhated: Fallout 3 (still the best modern Fallout)
Underrated: Final Fantasy XIII-2 (a great game sandwiched between crap)
Overrated: Final Fantasy VII (somehow manages to be more forgettable than VIII, yet is somehow adored?????)
Needs a Remake: Dissidia 012: Duodecim (I played the heck out of that game, yet the Dissidia franchise has been a joke ever since)
Criminally Overlooked: Nexomon Extinction
Favorite Protagonist: Yakuza Like a Dragon (I know, it's weird that a dude won, but Ichiban's legitimately awesome)
Favorite Antagonist: Final Fantasy VI (One of two games to show up twice!)
Best Soundtrack: Legend of Mana (The other!)
Best Multiplayer: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
Not Usually My Thing, But...: Spirit City Lofi Sessions (Honestly, wasn't sure what to put here)
Turn my Brain Off: Pokemon HeartGold (any of the old ones, tbh)
Best With Friends: Pokemon Scarlet/Violet (I... couldn't think of many games significantly improved by multiplayer)
Best Retro Game: Mega Man 3
Nostalgic Childhood Game: Robotrek (So few people even know it, but I loved it)
Game Everyone Should Play: Cassette Beasts (Just do it)

Made a version for authors (mostly aimed at webserial authors, but it should work for you saner sorts) because I could. I also filled it out, of course. A double bingo here, who can beat me?!
Bad Habit Author Bingo, as filled out by CrimCat. Evidence of CrimCat's many, many crimes against reasonableness.A blank template for the Bad Habit Author Bingo:
Row 1: alskdjflk.docx (i.e., bad file names), I must use unique concepts for my setting ALWAYS (i.e., reinventing the wheel), One million abandoned WIPs (self-explanatory), Comes up with ideas, does nothing (for your CURRENT work, not new ideas), Forgot to sleep/eat/etc (self-explanatory).
Row 2: The urge to write at the most inconvenient times (self-explanatory), Hunched over desk like a gremlin (don't judge me), Forgets own writing style (self-explanatory), Nearly finishes chapter, hasn't saved the entire time (VERY NORMAL), Fuck, wrong draft / version (i.e., editing an older draft).
Row 3: Doesn't name minor characters (you monster), Too hard on self (self-explanatory), FREE SPACE (mark it), Spent hours finding references, uses none (look, it seemed like an important detail at the time), Great world building, no story (probably just the planning stage, hopefully).
Row 4: Where did I save that?! (i.e., saved in wrong folder), 100 empty note files / notebooks (barren .txts here), My name appears nowhere in this draft (i.e., you never said who wrote the story), Neck or shoulders ache from not moving (the zone is a dangerous place), Notes filled with details no one will ever know (this is normal, isn't it?).
Row 5: I tell myself I definitely have time to write yet another series (self-explanatory), My readers definitely will still remember this person (it's only been 45 chapters), Taste smut--why can't my characters start banging already?! (self-explanatory), Halfway done and [I] still have no title (I knew I'd mess up somewhere), I left a placeholder in the final release!?! ($WardenName, you were the best).

I raise you with this, from the (dialogue) line: We’re a great team, but I’d feel better with one or two more party members.
Word telling me that the words work best with hyphens.

This part is fine. But the actual implementation Word suggests is... less fine.

I may have misunderstood the assignment.
I have never seen It, but have a clown with three rows of teeth.

It is poorly drawn, because CrimCat writes words and is less adept at arting arts.

For those that didn't see the alt text on the main post, my covers are all commissioned from the amazing @nozomimats.bsky.social and @neilak20.bsky.social is the one who does my awesome marginalia! And as an early announcement: Book 3's preorders should be opening later this month!
The cover for Blind Chaos Book 3, The Grace of War.
Art by Nozomi Matsuoka @nozomimats.bsky.social
Lettering by miblart.

The cover shows Ranthia, the main character, wearing heavily damaged and patchwork armor. A tattered and worn blindfold covers her eyes and her hair is back to a short length. She's standing in a barren region, at the site of a battle with damaged equipment and arrows left on the ground, and seems wary. The sky is dyed vivid colors from the setting sun. There is an army's standard planted in the ground behind her, with a perfectly ordinary bird of no note perched on it.

Hey, since everyone's mad about the NYT amplifying a book grifter, this feels like a good time to remind the world I write books with no "AI" involved! Blind Chaos' first two books are available on Amazon/KU! 1: www.amazon.com/dp/B0DK7T53L1 2: www.amazon.com/dp/B0G6KM3WYN #booksky #lesfic #litRPG

The words come from the author's imagination, the characters and locations and their respective names comes from the same (or Selkie Myth, in some cases). The editing was done through the author's obsession with quality, beta readers, and the occasional error report from readers. I followed your instructions (TWICE!), but... Alas, the people that lived inside apparently did not. There must've been another one inside, next to the houses. And yes, this amuses me like 80% less after having had to wait and redo it, but I felt obligated to finish what I started.
A (badly and hurriedly) colored snowglobe that appears to be full of smog with a generator next to it. The second that CrimCat made, because alas Crim had previously colored the original version.

As if I don't have a deadline looming for my writing! Time well spent.

CPSC provided text states:
PROTECT THE AIR IN THERE!
Keep your portable generator outdoors and at least 20 feet away from your home.

It also has the USCPSC logo on it, which has two eagles. They purport that this is very important.

Ooh my favorite four Final Fantasy games! FFVI has the top spot, but the other three are harder to rank. FFIX was a grand return to form. FFXIII-2 was a surprising gem stuck in a sea of mediocre from its prequel and sequel. And Dissidia 012 Duodecim forever has a special place in my heart.

My favorite piece of character art is undeniably this piece I commissioned from @evanyell.bsky.social depicting my MC, Ranthia, having a quiet, tender moment with her girlfriend, Avyna. Evanyell really knocked this one out of the park!
A beautifully painted depiction of two women sharing a quiet, tender moment together. A human brunette wearing a white tunic had her elven lover (dressed in a blue-and-white dress) lounging in her lap. The human is caressing her girlfriend's horns, which glisten with freshly applied oil. The two women are staring into one another's eyes. They're seated on a chaise inside a very fancy tent, with evening's colors shining through the fabric walls behind them.

Hey RR readers, this piece is by @evanyell.bsky.social and depicts Ranthia and Avyna sharing a tender moment together. Happy Pride Month to those that celebrate it. Enjoy your first look at Avyna and a different take on Ranthia!
Two women on a couch. One, Ranthia, is sitting upright, focused on the other, Avyna, who is laying across the couch with her head in Ranthia's lap. Avyna's elven horns are glossy and a bowl of mineral oil sits on the arm of the couch. One of Ranthia's hands caress a horn, while her other touches Avyna's hair. Avyna is smiling up at Ranthia, just as fixated on her lover as Ranthia is on her.

A joke comment I made on one of @cpsc.gov's posts about their lack of a blue check. I pointed out that CPSC.gov could be anyone, and suspected that it would take great effort to confirm that it's the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

But the important part is THEY LIKED IT!

Plum
Twilight mysteries. Hidden depths. Indulgent experiences.
Your soul is plum: a rich blend of sensuality, mystery, and indulgent depth. You navigate life with the lush and enticing energy of a ripe plum, inviting exploration and enjoyment. Your spirit is deep and alluring, sparking a sense of intrigue and a desire for deeper understanding in those around you. In your presence, there's a feeling of luxurious depth and a tantalizing allure, like the seductive taste of a sweet plum or the comforting embrace of a velvet shawl. You embody the richness of experience and the pleasure of the senses, encouraging others to delve into their emotions and to savor the depth of their experiences. Your approach to life is passionate and thoughtful, inspiring a love for the complex layers of life and a deep appreciation for the sensual aspects of existence.
(...And now that I'm done rewriting this I realize I should have copy-pasted instead. Sigh.)
