Today’s #10MinMerlin from the Willamette Valley. Also seen, a Rufous Hummingbird. Between them and the Turkey Vultures showing up a couple of weeks ago, and the swallows this week, it definitely feels Springy!

At the end of December, I was staying in Hillsdale and I heard multiple coyotes singing right outside the house. I’ve seen or heard 3 different owl species there in the past month and a half.

Today’s #TenMinMerlin didn’t turn up the Orange-crowned warbler or the butterbutts who were here earlier this week. Also, a SOSP spent most of the time eating within 10 feet of me and never made a peep.

Getting reacquainted with old familiar haunts is refreshing when they look like this. Saw 5 Sandhill cranes, my first of the season, just a couple of miles from here.
