reference sheet of my splatoon OC, blast (he/him), who is a gijinka of the blaster weapon from splatoon 3. he is prominently featured in the center of the image, leaning against his custom car. the hot rod that he drives features a flame pattern, similar to the leather jacket that he wears. his outfit takes inspiration from punk culture; he dresses this way to give others the impression that he is cool. close-up details of his design are scattered throughout the reference sheet.

a short blurb about blast can be seen in the bottom right. it reads as follows: "Blast is most well-known as the guy who drives a flaming hot rod through flounder heights playing bass-boosted music. He has a tendency to overestimate his capabilities (notably his aim) and desirability (he's bi and gets no one). 🌙 qrt w your style range! this trend was made for me because i love being a style chameleon... there's so many ways to approach art, but the workflow that comes easiest to me is a lineless style that emphasizes color and atmosphere!

color keys inspired by the #xenoblade title screen! congratulations on 16 years and the nintendo switch 2 edition 💙 #visdev #backgroundart #art

the first of four color keys of the xenoblade xenoblade chronicles (2010) title screen. it's set to daylight lighting conditions and features a vibrant blue sky with clouds circling around the monado.

the second color key of the xenoblade title screen, featuring sunset lighting treatment. the sunset is positioned in the center of the monado, drawing focus to it. clouds converge toward the center of the piece to reinforce it as the focal point.

the third color key of the xenoblade title screen, this time depicting it at night with shooting stars. a circular blue glow radiates from the monado.

i was watching the momocon 2026 splatoon tournament and when pou showed up on camera it made me emo so i drew a sillay little comic T_T i love this guy forever #art
